ZUMBA CLASS - All ladies are invited to our Zumba class which meets each Monday at
7:00 PM in the Teen Center. The charge is $5.00. Our certified instructor is our very own

LADIES BIBLE CLASS - October 22 - Lesson 2, Days 3, 4, and 5
WEDDING SHOWER - All ladies are invited to a wedding shower for Katherine Baker,
daughter of John and Carolyn Baker, and her fiancé, David Buchanan, TODAY from 1:30
to 3:00 PM at the home of Stephanie Codara, 2809 Regents Park Lane, Garland, TX

HOUSING NEEDED - Are you able to help with housing the Pied Pipers from Harding University? They will be in our area on November 5 and 8 and need a place to sleep those
nights. You may choose both nights or just one night to keep 2 or more male or female
college students who will be entertaining children in our area that week. They will attend
our first assembly on Sunday, November 9, so they can get home to catch up on their studies. If you can help in this ministry, contact Amy Bacon at [email protected] or 214738-4862.
ARMS OF HOPE - The truck from Arms of Hope will be in our area the week of November 10. They are in need of the following items: all-purpose cleaner, Lysol / Clorox
wipes, paper towels, Hamburger Helper, and coffee.
49er’s THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION - Our Annual 49ers’ Thanksgiving Fellowship
will be Friday, November 14, at 6:30 PM in the Family Center. Oliver Rhein will cater a
traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. Don Gibbs, who is a well-known motivational speaker,
comedian, and vocalist, will provide entertainment for the evening. Your cost for the evening will be $3 per person at the door. As the meal is catered, please be sure to sign up at
the information desk in the Family Center from October 19 through November 9,

HOUSEPARENT JOB OPENING - Christ’s Haven for Children has a job opening for a set
of house parents. The position must be filled by a married couple who are members of the

BIBLE SCHOLAR OF THE WEEK - Congratulations to Richey Owen! He was the first to repond with the correct answer to our Bible Trivia Question which was in our online bulletin e-mail
last week. In case you missed it, the question was, “Who was so incensed at the intermarriage
of Jews with foreigners that he pulled out the hair of some men?” The correct answer was
“Nehemiah.”
OUR SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO
Susan and Jim Newhouse and their family on the death of Susan's father, Larry Wilburn, who passed away on October 14. Funeral services were October 18. Larry was a
cousin of Bill Bowers.
Jeff, Cindy, Taylor, Cara, and Andrew Payne and their family on the death of Jeff's
father and Taylor's and Andrew's grandfather, Clifford Payne, who passed away on October
11. Funeral services were October 15 in High Point, North Carolina.

GriefWorks, the free grief support group for children ages 5‐18,
has grown so much…we’ve added another mee ng night. And
we need your help!
Volunteers are helping us to provide comfort food dinners to grieving
children and their family members before each GriefWorks session. Cur‐
rently we need addi onal volunteers to help provide these comfort food
dinners to 20‐25 people on the Tuesday nights of September 16, October
7, October 21 and November 4.
You, your Bible class, church, or service organiza on can help out by:
Preparing a full meal and delivering it to GriefWorks (kid‐friendly foods
consis ng of a main dish, sides such as salads or fruit plates and a
dessert)
Dona ng to pay for one GriefWorks meal ($125 per meal)
