1. ROUND TABLE »DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT«
The aim and purpose of building 3th International Scientific Conference “Bridges between Design and
Management” is to bring into dialogue diverse characteristic of both fields. We are looking for
interdisciplinary themes that address problems from multiple theoretical standpoints, from both areas
of design and management. Design Management is a business discipline that uses project
management, design strategy to control a creative process, support a culture of creativity, and build a
structure and organisation for design. The objective of design management is to develop and maintain
a business environment in which an organisation can achieve its strategic goals through design, and by
establishing and managing an efficient and effective system. Design management is a comprehensive
activity at all levels of business from the discovery phase to the execution phase. More and more
organisations apply design management to improve design-relevant activities to better connect design
with corporate processes. Let's begin with the Design management! At the first round table we will
discuss about creative industries, design innovation, product design management, brand design
management, business design management and value for business.

2. ROUND TABLE »THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK AND RESEARCH DESIGN«
Theories are formulated to explain, predict and understand phenomena of design and to extend
existing knowledge, within the limits of the critical bounding assumptions. The theoretical framework is
the structure that can hold or support a theory of a research study and introduces and describes the
theory which explains why the research problem under study exists and addresses multidisciplinary
aspects of design, methods and tools relevant for the design field. Improvements have been supported
by theories and methods developed by research groups around the world. Papers which have a basis to
promote undertaking design research will be of particular interest at the second round table with the
main topics: design research methods, new approaches to the design theories, philosophy and design,
visual culture and design, future trends and sustainable design.

3. ROUND TABLE »DESIGN IN PRACTICE«
Design is a result of the design process, connecting researchers and designers attempting to
understand better the problems they are trying to solve. The human aspect of design is crucial and
arguably has two aspects, one being the role that the designer has in producing products and second
the systems that relate to the users themselves. There are various views on the overall design in
practise. The objectives of the design tend to be integrative across the various disciplines, to cover the
multidisciplinary aspects of design. A critical factor in the effectiveness of designers and design teams is
the way that they are organized and managed. The third round table will deal with strategies, methods
and tools to support design in practise. This may include such topics as design and art, design and
fashion, interior design, product design and design for product life cycle.
