CHIROPRACTIC CARE CAN BE EFFECTIVE IN CARING FOR
PROBLEMS PREVENTING YOU FROM GETTING
STRAIGHT TO SLEEP
Approximately one-third of our lives are spent in bed, so watching what position you
sleep in is extremely important to maintaining a healthy spine.
Sleep allows the body to rejuvenate, physically and mentally, to ensure you wake
refreshed. Chiropractors are the spinal health experts, and understand the vital role
that sleep plays in health and overall wellbeing.
Patients with spinal problems have greater difficulty falling asleep, have more frequent awakenings, sleep subjectively less well, take more and longer naps and snore
more. Sleep disorders such as insomnia have been associated with painful
musculoskeletal conditions that may result in sleepiness, irritability and feelings of
misery.
Poor spinal health can adversely affect sleep. Chiropractic cares for spinal problems
that can prevent a good night’s sleep. Each week approximately 200,000 Australians
utilise chiropractic care. Many of these patients advise that they sleep much better
after receiving proper spinal care. There is so much more to chiropractic.
Poor sleep quality can affect us in a range of ways including Reduced work performance
Reduced academic performance
Strain on personal relationships
Increased auto and workplace accidents…...

New…
Spring is coming with its warm days and cool nights. Our minds are
turning towards longer days in the garden or out and about. It may also be
turning to shedding that winter weight and improving our overall fitness.
Just remember to take it slow and build up to your goals. Don’t jump into
the deep end without learning how to swim, so to speak.
We usually see an increase in activity as the weather improves and
with this can lead to injuries. So, come in and get a massage and ‘wake-up’
your dormant winter body to get out there and be active. Whether it is
getting into the garden that’s about to get into its spring flush or you’re
starting on a new workout program and need to loosen up your body. A
massage can do wonders in revitalising your body just as much as the
warmer weather will do for your soul.

CHIROPRACTIC CAN HELP MANAGE A BROAD RANGE OF
HEALTH ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH OVER 55’s - NOT JUST
BACK PAIN
Chiropractic—the largest, non-surgical, non-drug prescribing, primary contact health
care profession in the world. A natural approach to health, chiropractic focuses on the
relationship between the spine and the nervous system.
The primary focus of chiropractic is the location, correction and prevention of impairments to the nervous system. By correcting these impairments, chiropractic doctors can provide benefits to a wide range
of health issues.
Over 55’s chiropractic users were less likely to have been hospitalised, less likely to have used a nursing home, more likely to report better health status, more likely to exercise vigorously and more likely
to be mobile in the community. In addition, they were less likely to use prescription drugs.
Regular chiropractic care may increase your quality of life, health and well-being. So if you are over 55
and want to make the most out of life…discover for yourself the advantages of regular
chiropractic care.
Chiropractic care can help over 55’s manage Well-being

AN INCREASING NUMBER OF CHIROPRACTORS ARE SEEING PATIENTS
WITH BUCKET BACK INJURIES DUE TO INCREASED WATER
RESTRICTIONS IN AUSTRALIA
As a result of water shortages across Australia more and more people are using buckets to water their
gardens and recycle water in the household. While this is good for the environment, incorrectly carrying heavy buckets is not good for your spinal health. Carrying water buckets is an issue not only because of the weight carried, but also because water is an unstable weight, putting uneven stress on one
side of the body.
A common gardening bucket holds ten litres, which when filled equates to ten kilograms. This weight
is too heavy to manage for many people. It is possible to be environmentally conscious without bending over backwards!
Tips to follow when carrying and lifting water buckets Bend your knees—never bend your back
Only carry what is necessary—do not overfill your bucket
Use two smaller buckets (one in each hand) to disperse
