The Little Sisters of the Poor
The Little Sisters of the Poor join us this
weekend. Their home on North Lakewood Ave.,
is one of over 190 Homes operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor in 31 countries throughout the
world. Your support will enable them to continue
their mission of caring for the elderly poor in a
spirit of joy and dignity. Any assistance you are
able to give will be deeply appreciated. Blessings on
you and your families
St. Gregory the Great Schola Cantorum
Each Sunday members of the St. Gregory the Great
Schola Cantorum render the Gregorian Chant Propers and Ordinaries at the 9:00 am, 11:00 am and
12:30 pm Masses. We are in need of volunteers in
the Schola to keep this portion of the Treasury of
Sacred Music alive. Men interested or wishing to
find out more about the Schola should contact
Brother Matthew at 312-243-7373.
40 Days for Life
Join fellow parishioners of St. John Cantius in
standing up for LIFE! 40 Days for Life is a campaign of fasting, prayer, and vigil outside of abortion clinics that has saved thousands of babies from
abortion, saved mothers and families from the pain
of abortion, and even converted clinic workers.
We will be filling all the hours of
OCTOBER 30th outside the Albany Medical Surgical
Center late-term abortion facility at 5086 N. Elston
Ave., Chicago (just off of I-94 between the Cicero
and Wilson exits). Parking is available across the
street from the clinic, by the 10-foot-tall image of
the Divine Mercy.
To sign up for an hour, please visit the Respect Life table in the vestibule after mass, or contact Darlene at 773-844-1508
or [email protected].
The Women’s Center
We celebrate Thanksgiving during November.
This is an appropriate time for us to thank God
for the many people who have helped us in
our work of serving mothers and babies in difficult pregnancies. We could not do this without your help.
We are selling beautiful (difficult to find in
stores) Pro-Life Christmas cards at a super
price per box of 10 for $5.00 plus $2.00 for
shipping. Call 773-794-1313 for an informational flyer and ordering information.
Our Christmas Wreath sale is on the weekends
of 11/29 and 11/30 and 12/06 and 12/07. If
a Parish or Respect Life Group would like to
participate call Janet at 773-685-2531. We
need strong men to help unload and deliver
wreaths. Contact Jackie at [email protected] or phone 773-794-8807 to volunteer for this fundraiser.
Save the date: Saturday, February 14, 2015 is
the date for our 30th Life Banquet. We are excited to announce our keynote speaker is Dr.
Monica Miller, author of the book
“Abandoned, the Untold Story of the Abortion
Wars”.
We need 3 walkers, 3 toddler beds, 3 strollers,
3 double strollers, 3 bassinets, 3 swings, 3 pack
n plays, 2 fixed side cribs, crib sheets, 2
changing tables, and 2 infant car seat/carriers.
It will be a great help if you can deliver these
to us. For our address, or if a pick-up by a volunteer is needed, please call 773-794-1313.
A Wednesday morning (9 a.m. – Noon) volunteer is needed in the Administrative Office to
answer phones and help with various other
projects. We need strong Furniture Room volunteer(s) for Wednesday and/or Thursday
from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. until 4
p.m. to help distribute baby furniture. We have
an excellent opportunity for individuals or
friends to volunteer together. People are
needed to prep baby bottles for our “spare
change” fundraising project, anytime Monday
thru Friday between 10 a.m. and 4p.m. These
volunteer opportunities are at our Chicago office. For more information contact
[email protected] or call Jackie at
773-794-8807
A word we frequently hear yet we struggle to construct an accurate definition. Suppose your family
was living on under $2,000 a month, amounting to
less than $24,000 per year. According to the US Bureau, families of four in the United States living in
poverty earn less than $23,850 annually. About
650,000 of your fellow Chicagoans are facing that
reality and struggling to provide for their families.
These striking statistics fuel the Catholic Campaign
for Human Development (CCHD) who works to
combat the threats that poverty poses and empower
the poor through self-help programs. They fund organizations in your neighborhood including Lake
County Center for Independent Living who is working to promote affordable and accessible housing for
people with disabilities.
This November 22nd and 23rd, join the millions of
generous Chicagoans and support the Catholic Campaign for Human Development to help fund remarkable
organizations.
Please
visit:
www.ChicagoPeaceAndJustice.org/CCHD for more
information.
St. Joseph's Guild
"Ite Ad Joseph"
The St. Joseph's Guild will meet to do more cleaning
on Saturday, November 8th following the 8:30 am
Mass. Please meet in the Cafe for doughnuts, coffee
and work assignments. Even if you can only come
for an hour, it would be a great help as there is a lot
to clean in these buildings. All are welcome to
come!
For those interested in participating, please bring
work clothes and a lunch. For more information,
please contact Myles Ahearn email: [email protected] Cell: 219.742.8431.

Recessional: 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m.
The music below is sung at the 12:30 p.m. Mass. The “Christus vincit...” is known as the Acclamations.
This ancient hymn was sung on Festivals of our Lord to acknowledge His Kingship over the world. Each
time the refrain below is sung, we invite you to join the choir in singing this acclamation. During this sung
act of homage, the Precious Cross is raised as it is incensed and candles raised in victory to Christ our King.
Act of Dedication of the Human Race to Jesus Christ the King
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before
you. We are yours, and yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you, behold
each one of us freely consecrates himself today to your Most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known you; many, too, despising your precepts, have rejected you.
Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred Heart.
Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's
house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and
the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Grant, O Lord,
to your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility of order to
all nations; make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the divine Heart
that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor for ever. Amen.
