Technip in Angola 3 Angoflex Industrial Limitada Angoflex Industrial Limitada was created in March 2002 through an association between Sonangol (30%) and Technip (70%) with the objective of investing, building and operating an umbilical factory located within the Lobito fabrication yard. The Dande Base was inaugurated in 2006. Execution capabilities The Lobito umbilical plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of umbilicals cables. The plant has a capacity to produce the following types of umbilicals: Water injections Production umbilicals Control umbilicals Static & dynamic umbilicals The umbilicals manufactured in Angola are STU (Steel Tube Umbilicals) with the following components available to be assembled: Super Duplex tubes, Electrical Cables (signal and power) and Fiber Optics. Plant expansion The Angoflex Lobito umbilical factory This unique facility uses state-of-the-art technology to produce top quality steel tube umbilicals for deepwater development offshore Angola. The core production personnel completed an extensive training program at Technip’s other manufacturing plants in Brazil, in the USA and UK. The factory employs approximately 200 people, of which more than 90% are Angolans. Angoflex is contributing to the rapid economic growth of both the Benguela Province and the Angolan economy. The capabilities of the plant have been signficantly extended, in terms of volume and complexity of umbilicals being manufactured 4 Technip in Angola The expansion of this state-of-the-art umbilical plant was completed in 2013 to meet the growing demand for longer lenthg and larger diameter products on the West African and worldwide markets. It included: The installation of two 2,500 tons carousels An upgrade to a Helical lay-up machine A load-out roller path Acquisition of two under rollers New over-head crane Angoflex Lobito complements Technip’s other umbilical engineering and manufacturing units in Newcastle (UK), in Houston (USA) and in Malaysia. The Angoflex Dande Base The Angoflex Dande base was inaugurated in March 2006. It is located in Dande, about 40 km north of Luanda on 780,000 m² of secure property. The facility manufactures rigid pipeline for reel-lay installation of deepwater oil and gas production systems. It has a unique 600-meter long jetty, with depths of up to 12 meters at the bulkheads. When in full production, the workforce averages 200 people. Accommodation and full catering facilities for 400 people are provided on-site, in addition to a medical clinic. The Technip Group operates four other spoolbase facilities in Mobile, Alabama (USA), Evanton (UK), Orkanger (Norway) and Barra do Riacho (Brazil). Product range & capability The Dande spoolbase has the ability to pre-fabricate pipe stalks up to 3 km in length, which minimises tie-in welds, and the time needed to load pipe onto the Deep Blue reel pipelay vessel. This capability is unmatched by any other spoolbase in the world. Ability to handle single or double joints Pipe stalks length to 3 km Pipe-in-pipe for production flow assurance Plastic-lined pipe for water injection corrosion protection A workshop for the fabrication of subsea structures Technip in Angola 5 Technip Angola Engenharia Limitada We operate in all of Technip Group’s markets: Technip Angola Engenharia Limitada, established in June 2000, is the first engineering company established in Angola.
