This exhibition is open to all collectors regardless of philatelic affiliation who conform to these rules and whose exhibits are accepted and approved for display by the American Stamp Dealers Association, Inc. (ASDA) All material exhibited must be owned by the person(s) whose name(s) appear(s) on the official entry form. Exhibits with dual ownership are only eligible if the two individuals are husband and wife, or parent and child and brother and/or sister. 2. An entry form must be mailed to the American Stamp Dealers Association, Inc., c/o Stanley M. Piller, P O Box 559, Alamo CA 94507 or sent by email to Stanley Piller at: [email protected], to arrive no later than 1 July 2014. An exhibitor may enter only one exhibit. Entries will be acknowledged as applications are received. Acknowledgement of receipt of an application does not constitute acceptance. 4. Notification of acceptance will be sent no later than 31 July 2014. The ASDA reserves the right to refuse any exhibit. 3. Exhibits will be entered in two classes only: United States and non-United States. Each exhibit must comprise five (5) or eight (8) frames. Exhibits which have not yet been awarded a large vermeil, gold or large gold medal at an FIP international exhibition may comprise only five frames. Exhibits which have been awarded a large vermeil, gold or large gold medal at an FIP international exhibition must comprise eight (8) frames. Please note that no one-frame exhibits will be accepted. All exhibits are deemed to be competitive and allocation of an exhibit to a class will be made by the ASDA whose decision shall be final. The entry fee per frame is a maximum of US$ 75 per frame. Any exhibitor failing to exhibit will forfeit the frame fees. 4. Each frame measures 36” x 48” and is divided into four rows, each 11” high. Each frame will hold 16 pages 9” x 12”. Slightly larger pages can be accommodated with some overlapping. Each page must be inserted into a transparent protective sleeve, envelope or covering and should bear the progressive numbers on the reverse side to indicate the order in which the pages are to be mounted. Entries with large or odd sized pages must be so noted at the time the entry form is submitted. 4 5. It is recommended that each exhibitor place his/her name and address on the reverse of each page of the exhibit. 6. Exhibitors (or their designated representative) must deliver their exhibit in person to the exhibition site and collect their exhibits at the conclusion of the exhibition. Each exhibitor (or their designated representative) will be accompanied by a representative of the ASDA at the mounting and dismounting of the exhibits. 7. Personally delivered exhibits will be accepted at the exhibition area inside the New York Hilton, 1335 Avenue of The Americas, New York, NY 10019 between 2.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. on 22 October 2014. Exceptions may be considered. 8. No exhibit will be removed from the frames until the exhibit area is cleared of all visitors after the closure of the exhibition on Sunday, 26 October 2014 after 4:00 p.m. Exceptions may be considered. 9. The exhibits will be judged by a panel comprising seven (7) internationally qualified and experienced jurors under the direction of Mr. Don Richardson who is an FIP Juror from New Zealand. Each exhibit will be judged on its own merits. The decisions of the judges are final and exhibitors release and agree to hold harmless and indemnify the judges and the ASDA, its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, and representatives from any damages, including, but not limited to, damages to the exhibitor’s reputation or that of his/her exhibit, suffered or incurred as a result of the judging. 10. Awards will be made based on international standards and exhibits will be judged independently for an unlimited number or large gold, gold, large vermeil, vermeil, silver, silver bronze and bronze awards. Two grand awards will be given. A national grand award will be given for the best United States and related areas exhibit and an international grand award will be given for the best exhibit on a worldwide (non US) subject. Four reserve grand awards (two in each class) also will be awarded in each class, one reserve grand award will be for exhibits comprising material up to and including the 19th century and the other reserve grand award will be for exhibits of predominantly 20th/21st century material. 11. There will be two full days of critiques and exhibiting/judging seminars at the New York Hilton on 25 and 26 October 2014 and all exhibitors will receive an invitation for these critiques/seminars for themselves and a guest. The critiques will be conducted one-on-one and in classroom format. 5 12. The medals and grand/reserve grand awards will be presented to exhibitors at an awards dinner to be held on Friday, 24 October 2014. Full details will be sent to all exhibitors and orders to purchase tickets will be made to the ASDA. 13. Owners must provide their own insurance and complete the release form. All reasonable care will be taken to ensure the safety of exhibits. However, no responsibility may be attached to the ASDA, the New York Hilton or any other entity associated with the exhibition, and/or their officers, members or employees for any loss or damage whatsoever to an exhibit, and the exhibitor expressly waives any claim thereof. Exhibitor shall release, indemnify, hold harmless and defend the ASDA, its directors, officers, members, agents and employees of the New York Hilton Hotel (collectively the “Indemnified Parties”) from all losses, claims, liability, actions, damages, and judgments recovered from or asserted against Indemnified Parties including, without limitation, all cost, expenses, attorney’s fees and legal expenses (i) for any injury to or death of any persons, and any loss of, through theft or otherwise, or damage to property arising in any way in connection with the use and exhibition by the exhibitor, of the frames, equipment, exhibition space or of the hotel facility; and (ii) arising out of the use of patented, trademarked, copyrighted or other proprietary materials, equipment, devices, processes or dramatic rights furnished to or used by the exhibitor, his/her agents or employees or other persons in connection with the exhibition or the use of the hotel space. If the ASDA shall be made a party to any litigation commenced by or against the exhibitor, or relating to this exhibition or to the 100th Anniversary National Postage Stamp Show, the facility or hotel space, the ASDA, in its sole discretion, may retain counsel of its choice and exhibitor shall pay all such cost and expense, including all reasonable attorney’s fees and court cost incurred by or imposed upon the ASDA by virtue of such litigation. 14.
