With recent announcements from MCX and Apple, it seems like we are finally on the
verge of mobile payments becoming something other than a novelty. But there are
still many unanswered questions. Join this round table to discuss:






How are mobile devices being used for remote and proximity payments today?
Which method of mPOS will triumph: NFC, BLE, QR Codes, or something else?
Will there ultimately be only one winner?
Will biometric authentication and tokenization become a consumer expectation
for mobile payments?
What do banks need to change to accommodate consumers who spend
increasing amounts of time on their mobile devices? Are there any financial
services that shouldn’t be mobile?
How can mobile financial services benefit the un- and/or underbanked?
With the rapidly changing environment, how does one even define “mobile
payment” and “mobile device”?

9:00-10:00
US Strategy Session – Building a Plan for ISO20022 Adoption in the United
States – Next Steps
Ambassador
Financial Institutions including ACH operations and treasury services along with service
providers, processors and operators have worked continuously to adapt to end user needs
while supporting formats designed to complement the paper processes of previous decades.
Imagine a day when the last of these resources are gone and just like the telegraph
operators, linotype designers, film developers, and watch makers of yesteryear, there are no
millennials out there to replace them. Thinking “out of the box,” what are the strategic and
operational opportunities for improving business if such scenarios were to transpire, and you
had to shed legacy standards? ISO 20022 will eventually have the advantage of being a
uniform format for domestic and cross-border payments as adoption increases, but this
standard currently has only limited support in the U.S. NACHA, The Federal Reserve Bank,
The Clearing House, and X9 commissioned KPMG to evaluate the business case for
ISO2022 adoption in the U.S.
Participants will be asked to participate in small discussion groups to provide input on how
ISO 20022 could impact their organizations’ payment services, operations and revenue.
Speakers: Gina Russo, Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Eileen Dignen, SVP,
CHIPS Product Management and Strategy, The Clearing House; George Throckmorton,
Managing Director, Network Development, NACHA
Facilitator: Rob Unger, Senior Director, Product Management & Strategic Corporate
Alliances, NACHA

who will share their thoughts on innovation in this space. Ripple is an open, decentralized
payments protocol that enables anything of value to be traded through a global web. How
and why will they use Ripple for cross-border? Session includes discussion of drivers such
as real-time.
