THE GMB Sudhir MAHESHWARI, Senior Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal and Member of the Group Management Board will be leaving end of March 2015. On 1st January 2015, Gonzalo URQUIJO, Senior Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal and Member of the Group Management Board will become Advisor to Mr. Mittal, Chairman and CEO. Mr. Mittal, Chairman and CEO, wants to thank Sudhir for his many years of service and his very important contribution to the company and wishes him all the very best for the future. He also wants to thank Gonzalo for his important contribution in his various responsibilities and in the GMB and looks forward to working with him in his new role of advisor. The Group Management Board will continue to be chaired by Mr. Mittal. Aditya Mittal, Davinder Chugh and Lou Schorsch will continue to be members of the GMB. AMERICAS Michael RIPPEY, Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal, Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal Flat USA and member of the Group Management Committee will be leaving on 1st November 2014. Mike will be proposed to be appointed Chairman of ArcelorMittal USA by the AM USA board of directors. Mr. Mittal, Chairman and CEO, wants to thank Mike for having accepted to continue to contribute to the company as AM USA Chairman of the board and for his very important contribution to the company during so many years. Following this evolution, it is decided to create a new position which will have responsibility for ArcelorMittal Dofasco, ArcelorMittal Flat USA and AM/NS Calvert operations. This new managerial entity has been established to ensure optimisation of the flat rolled business in NAFTA. James (Jim) BASKE, Vice President of ArcelorMittal is appointed Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal North America Flat Rolled, effective on 1st November 2014. He will report to Lou Schorsch, Senior Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal and member of the Group Management Board. Jim began his career in 1981 at LTV Steel. He then joined Copperweld Corp. as VP of Operations in 2002. Copperweld is now part of the Tubular Products Division of ArcelorMittal. In 2006, Jim was appointed Vice President of Dofasco Tubular Products’ Mechanical Division, and then became Director, Mechanical Tubular Products leading facilities in Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Kazakhstan and the USA. In 2009, Jim assumed the responsibility of all Tubular Products facilities in North America. Jim holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the United States. He also completed executive management programs at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business, USA. Andrew HARSHAW, Vice President of ArcelorMittal is appointed Chief Executive Officer of AM USA and member of the Group Management Committee effective on 1st November 2014. He reports to James (Jim) Baske, Vice President of ArcelorMittal and Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal North America Flat Rolled. Andy joined the group at Dofasco in 1978. He has held a variety of positions in Research, Finishing, and Manufacturing prior to being appointed VP Manufacturing at Dofasco in 2005. In 2008, he moved to Flat Carbon USA to become EVP Operations. Andy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada. EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT NOMINATION Geert VAN POELVOORDE, Vice President of ArcelorMittal, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products and Europe Purchasing Platform is nominated Executive Vice President, effective 1st October 2014. He will continue to report to Aditya Mittal, Chief Finance Officer ArcelorMittal and Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal Europe. Geert started his career in 1989 as a project engineer in the hot strip mill at Sidmar, Gent where he held several senior positions in the automation and process computer department. He moved to Stahlwerke Bremen in 1995 to take up the position of Senior Project Manager responsible for the implementation of the investment plan until 1998. Between 1998 and 2002, he was successively heading up a number of departments including the Electrical Maintenance of the hot strip mill, the Engineering department, and the Central Maintenance, Transportation, and Logistics department. In 2003, he was appointed Director of Stahlwerke Bremen responsible for Operations and Engineering. In July 2005, Geert returned to ArcelorMittal Gent to take up the position of Upstream manager. Prior to being nominated CEO FCE Unit North in May 2008, he was Head of ArcelorMittal Gent with direct responsibility for Upstream Operations. His most recent position was CEO of FCE Business Division North. Geert graduated from the University of Gent, Belgium, with a degree in Civil Engineering Electronics. EUROPE Alain LE GRIX DE LA SALLE, Vice President of ArcelorMittal and member of AM Europe management committee is appointed Head of Commercial coordination and Customer relations, ArcelorMittal Europe, and effective on 1st November 2014. Alain is also in charge of Government Affairs Europe. He will continue to report to Aditya Mittal, Chief Finance Officer ArcelorMittal and Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal Europe. Alain joined the group in 1985. Following his role as General Manager at Daval Benelux in 1991, he was appointed Vice President Sales at Arcelor Auto Processing from 1994 to 1998. Alain pursued his career as VP Sales in New York at Francosteel / Arcelor International America for a period of 6 years. In 2004, he was relocated in Grenoble as GM of ArcelorMittal – ArcelorMittal Steel Service Center France. In 2006, he was appointed CEO of ArcelorMittal International, and then became CMO General Industry (including Global Customers) of ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon Europe in 2009. In his most recent role, he was CEO of AMDS. Alain is a graduate from the ‘Ecole Supérieure de Gestion’ in Paris, France. EUROPE AMDS Antoine VAN SCHOOTEN, Vice President of ArcelorMittal is appointed Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions and member of the Group Management Committee, effective on 1st November 2014. He will report to Aditya Mittal, Chief Finance Officer ArcelorMittal and Chief Executive Officer ArcelorMittal Europe. Antoine Van Schooten joined Sidmar in 1989 as Operational Research Engineer and was appointed Production Engineer Hot Rolling Mill in 1995. He moved to Bregal in Bremen in 1997 as Managing Director before being promoted to Head of the Customer Relations and Logistics Department at Stahlwerke Bremen. Antoine was appointed Head of Finishing Operations at Arcelor Bremen in 2005 and CEO Bremen in 2008. In his most recent role, Antoine was Head of Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain ArcelorMittal Europe, Business Division North. Antoine graduated as Electrical Engineer. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Gent (Belgium).
