But SAPS is a CPU sizing metric characterizing only the compute requirements of an SAP system and does not allow conclusions about the response characteristics of a database. Real World SAP applications performance is impacted by the whole infrastructure, not just by the CPU. • Finding: SuperCluster responds TWICE as fast as standard architectures with the same SAPS rating running the same workload. • Supporting Customer Observations – Oil & Gas Customer: SAPS for SuperCluster was 1.26X SAPS of existing architecture. Actual tests showed workload on SuperCluster 3X faster than existing architecture. – Retail Manufacturing Customer: SAPS for SuperCluster was 0.95X SAPS of existing architecture.
