After the Christmas party the
club and the committee will
enjoy some quiet time.
From the Editor
Throughout the year the club
has welcomed many new
members and my hope is that
old and new members will
continue to support and enjoy
the club and its events in the
new year.
Christmas is quietly sneaking
up on us; Sunday 29 November
is the first Sunday in advent,
time to light the candles and
enjoy the season. Write some
Christmas cards to old friends
and family – www.god-jul.dk
offers free electronic cards to
send them by email.
It’s a busy time at the club with

Christmas Party 2014
(photo: Soren Hoimark)
Merry Christmas! We invite members, friends and their children and
grandchildren to celebrate Christmas at the club. Enjoy singing traditional
Danish Christmas songs with ‘KUPALEJA’ and dancing around the Christmas
tree while we wait for Santa Oz and his helpers to
arrive. There’ll be gløgg and æbleskiver and hot
dogs on the menu and maybe a few other goodies.
Come decked out in your Christmas gear and be
prepared for a lot of dancing and singing around
the Christmas tree.
Make sure you bring along a gift for your
child/children, wrapped and clearly labelled and
hand it in at the door. Santa will hand out the
gifts when he arrives. We want to make sure
there’s room for everyone, please book by
Wednesday 9 December 2015. Send an email to
[email protected] or ring Lone on
3359 2026 or 0437 612 913 with names and
numbers.

Dansk Legegruppe

i St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 71 Newham Road, Mt. Gravatt

sted i Tyskland i 1600-tallet. Dengang var det især julemad, der brugtes
som juledekorationer, dvs. sukkerstænger, honningkager og andet
juleslik.
i Danmark.
Danmark bruges ofte flettede julehjerter. Faktisk sad H. C. Andersen

What better way to start the year
than with a Party?!
The Danish Club in conjunction with The Danish Folkdance Group
Our last party was so popular we have decided to do it again! Hence, we have thrown open the
doors and would like to invite you all to join us for another night of fabulous food, live
entertainment and dancing.
Kupaleja, our very own and much loved Band, will get the festivities rolling for the evening
with some of our favourite Scandinavian tunes.
Michael Whitmore and his “Big Band” sound (known from clubs + Cruise Liners) will provide
the main entertainment with anything from Jazz, Rock’n’Roll & Country to “Pride of Erin”…
ensuring a full dance floor at all times.
When:
Saturday, 6 February 2016 6pm for a 6:30pm start
Where:
Danish Club, Austin St, Newstead
Cost:
$40.00 includes 3 course dinner, coffee/tea and cake
