In this exhibition, they are lights from artists’ souls, 2D & 3D art works, that will cast a new light during the holiday season as artists share their play with the idea that art creates light. Luminarias will be on display December 1st through January 30th. TO PARTICIPATE: Send images of up to two works related to the theme to Editor@CasaSB. com by November 27th at midnight. Work will be juried and results emailed. All work must be wired or pedestal ready and must be FOR SALE. No work larger than 30 inches wide will be accepted. Artists should plan to join the CASA Team for a romantic evening of music, art, and light refreshments on 1st Thursday, December 4th and find Harold Kono at the keyboard surrounded by the soft light of luminarias and art by local artists. E N PLEIN AIR PAINTINGS of the backcountry, ranches, and the beach are highlighted in Marcia Burtt’s solo exhibition at Santa Barbara Frame Shop, on view through November. “The best thing about painting from life is that looking at nature for hours unpeels my eyes, so I see beauty everywhere,” shared Burtt. “Nothing is as gorgeous as the scenes I’m too tired to capture because I’ve spent all day standing on the beach painting one particular scene.” From images of Butterfly Beach to the Presidio, Burtt’s 18 paintings hanging at the Frame Shop capture the natural beauty that surrounds us.
