N PLEIN AIR PAINTINGS of the backcountry, ranches, and the beach
are highlighted in Marcia Burtt’s solo exhibition at Santa Barbara
Frame Shop, on view through November.
“The best thing about painting from life is that looking at nature
for hours unpeels my eyes, so I see beauty everywhere,” shared Burtt.
“Nothing is as gorgeous as the scenes I’m too tired to capture because
I’ve spent all day standing on the beach painting one particular scene.”
From images of Butterfly Beach to the Presidio, Burtt’s 18 paintings
hanging at the Frame Shop capture the natural beauty that surrounds us.
