Future File October 31, 2014 ACMA’s Dance West to perform with the Oregon Symphony The Arts and Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) Dance West company will perform with the Oregon Symphony November 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97205. Dance West is a pre-professional dance company that provides an intensive training program for advanced dance students; desiring in-depth study and performance experience. Dancers who have auditioned for placement range in ages from 13 - 19 and commit to at least one full year of a training and performance schedule. The “Kids Concert Series” will feature the dancers in a Pirate themed performance of the Oregon Symphony’s merry band of pirates on another swashbuckling adventure. The Arts and Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) presents “On a Winter’s Day,” a holiday production December 11 - 14, 2014 at the ACMA Performing Arts Center, 11375 SW Center Street, Beaverton, Oregon 97005. The Concert includes members of the ACMA Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Conte Bennett, the vocal ensemble, Synergy, under the direction of Raoul Bellis-Squires, the Classical Orchestra under the direction of MaryAnn Campbell, along with Dance West and Dance Ensemble directed by the ACMA Dance Staff. Excerpts from The Nutcracker, as well as selected holiday jazz arrangements are the dancers’ inspiration. Showtimes are December 11, 12, 13, 14 at 7:00 p.m. with a matinee performance on December 14 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 advanced purchase for adults and $12 at the door.
