Martin Kratz leads the intellectual property
practice for Bennett Jones. His practice is

Stephen’s practice focuses primarily on

CATHERINE JOHNSTON
Catherine Johnston is the President and
Chief Executive Officer of ACT Canada, the
stakeholder association driving payment
evolution and digital identity. Catherine is
also the Chair of the International Smart Card
Associations Network, and founder of the
Canadian Women in Payments Networking
group. She has become a leading expert in privacy and chip
technologies, serving as the association’s Chief Privacy Officer. As
the president of ACT Canada, she works with issuers, acquirers,
processors, merchants, regulators, consumers, law enforcement
and policy makers in Canada and abroad. By bringing these
stakeholders together in a neutral environment, they effectively
advance opportunities and overcome issues. Catherine is also the
driving force behind Cardware, Canada’s premiere payments and
digital identity insights conference. She is a founding member and
past Vice-Chairman of the Stakeholders Advisory Council of the
Canadian Payments Association. She has been with the association
for 24 years.
