Quiet Please
Out of respect for the Blessed Sacrament present in the
tabernacle, as well as out of courtesy to those praying
before and after Mass, please avoid socializing in the
church worship space. Thank you.
Welcome & Registration
We extend a warm welcome to all who joined us today and
invite you to worship with us again soon. Registration
forms are available in the back of the church and
completed forms may be returned to the church office or
placed in any collection basket.
Eucharistic Fast
Canon law states, “One who is to receive the most Holy
Eucharist is to abstain from any food or drink, with the
exception only of water and medicine, for at least the
period of one hour before Holy Communion” (CIC 919).
The elderly, the sick, and their caretakers are excused from
this obligation. Chewing gum breaks the Eucharistic fast
and should not be used an hour before Mass and should
never be used in church. Also, one should NEVER receive
Holy Communion with chewing gum in one’s mouth and
food or drink should not be brought into Church.

Come and join us to learn about these faithful women.
Volunteers Needed at St. Alphonsus!
By utilizing volunteers for the cleaning of the church and
parish hall, we are able to keep our expenses down while
keeping our worship and fellowship spaces clean. The
more volunteers we have, the less frequently they can be
scheduled. Volunteers are needed to fill the January – April
schedule. Please contact the parish office to be added to the
schedule.
Friends of the Poor Thanksgiving Food Drive
Members of the St. Alphonsus Friends of the Poor will
hand out grocery bags with a list of suggested items after
the Sunday Masses on November 1 through November 16
for their Thanksgiving Food Drive. Please help us assist the
needy in our community by participating in this food
drive.
Advent Penance Service
A Penance Service will be held at St. Alphonsus on
Wednesday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. There will be
visiting priests available to assist with confessions. Canon
law states that “After they have reached the age of
discretion, all the faithful are obliged to confess serious
sins at least once a year.” Receiving the Sacrament of
Reconciliation is a good way to prepare for the celebration
of Christmas.
Fall/Winter Garden Clean-Up
A Garden Clean-up will be held on Saturday, November
15, starting at 9:00 a.m. No experience is needed. Come
and join us to make our gardens beautiful and ready for
Fall/Winter. The point of contact is Beth Teer at 901-4754817.
