Thinning and gap filling shall be done after fertilizer application to maintain the population lost due to flooding. PONDICHERRY Drain the excess water and avoid applying fertilizers during these rainy days. NILGIRIS • There is no rainfall for next 3 days • No rainfall is expected in the next 3 days, the farmers are advised to adopt mulching to conserve moisture. • Due to cloudy weather and temperature fluctuation there may be chances for the spread of blister blight in tea. Farmers are advised to adopt remedial measures. • Due to low temperatures/ winter and frost prevailing in the Nilgiris, currently there is no sowing of crops except for irrigated potato and carrot. • Very low temperature is expected, measures may be suitably taken to prevent damages to crops. • Sowing of irrigated potato may be taken up after application of biofertilizers @ 2.5 kg/ac and Paecilomyces lilacinus @ 4 - 8 kg/ac along with well decomposed farm yard manure. CHENNAI, KANCHIPURAM, THIRUVALLUR, VELLORE, VILLUPURAM & TIRUVANNAMALAI AGRICULTURE : 1. Paddy crop under growing stage and provide fertilizers through foliar method. 2.
