and all items must be out by 7 am on Saturday, November 8th.
Most items placed curbside will be picked up as long as it is prepared in “Manageable Bundles” - bags, boxes or containers. Bags and containers must weigh less than 50
lbs. Please place metal items separately. We will not unload vehicles or trailers.
Items to be picked up include: Furniture, toys, bicycles, appliances (any Freon must be
removed and appliance tagged), home fixtures, carpet and other items as long as they
are considered non-hazardous. Building materials, doors, sections of fencing – must be
cut down to fit into the truck and be lifted by one person. Latex Paints (must be dried
up in containers).
Unacceptable items include: large plastic drums, concrete, large pieces of metal, yard
waste, dirt or bricks, liquid or hazardous waste, tires, non-latex paints & varnishes,
motor oil & solvents, any batteries, medical waste, large car parts, building demolition
(large volumes such as garage or house demolition). Hazardous materials such as car
batteries and appliances with Freon (air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers) cannot
be picked up.

Obituary
passed away October 26, 2014 at St Mary’s
Hospital in Saginaw. Zak was born Sept. 26, 1977
in South Haven, the son of Rosemary and Bruce
(Welsh) Jackson, and grew up in the Bangor area.
He was a loving and kind person who had a big
heart. Surviving are his mother, Rosemary Jackson
of Bangor; brother, Mark (Wendy) Jackson of
Bloomingdale; daughter, Aryanna Rose Jackson; 2
sons, Bryan Lee Jackson, Jacob Dewayne Jackson
both of Saginaw; and many other relatives. The
family met friends 3-5 PM Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014
at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home
where there was a time of sharing at 5:00 PM.
According to his wishes cremation followed the
services and burial of cremains will be Tuesday
2:00 PM, Nov. 4, 2014 at Arlington Hill Cemetery,
Bangor, MI. The family suggests memorials be
made to the family.

‘amazing season’
From Coach Ryan Newberry: At the
regional meet on Oct. 25, the Lady Vikings
fell short of our goal to qualify as a team to
the state meet.
After an amazing race the scores were
posted and we were only one point shy of
qualifying.
Marilyn Gallegos qualified as a Individual
for her third season in a row and will run
this Saturday at the State Finals.
These ladies had an amazing season. Make
sure to congratulate them when you see
them in school today.

Hailey is a junior at South Haven
high school. She made a state
qualifying cut time in the 100
back with the 1:05.29.
She will be traveling to Oakland
University in a few weeks for the

on their first possession and continued to
score throughout the game. It was a great
win and moved their season record to 5-4.

When I grow up ...
Craig became the 1st Freshman to
qualify for the State Cross Country meet as an individual in at least
20 years! Craig ran a 17:07 to place
13th, a :14 pr. Craig led the boys
team to an 11th place finish. As of
now, Craig is the 3rd fastest freshman
in Division II. Craig was the team's #1
runner at each and every meet this year.
He was also All-Conference as a
Freshman placing 6th.

some of their best volleyball this year –
especially in the third set – the Lady Vikings
fell short last night against River Valley 0-3.
Maggie Ring led the team with 7 kills, 4
aces and 14 digs.
Megan Watkins added 4 kills, 1 ace, and
7 digs.
Hannah Rukas chipped in with 14 digs.
The Lady Vikings compete Saturday in the
SAC Tournament in Fennville starting with
a rematch against Hartford.
