Residents of PoK would love to File complaint about ration offices, fair
join India: Muslim cleric
price shops at Facebook page
JAMMU, Nov 9: The
chairman of Anjuman Minhaje- Rasool, an Islamic
organisation working for
peace and communal harmony,
today said that if given a
chance the residents of
Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
(PoK) would love to join the
Union of India.
"If a plebiscite is held in
the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, more than 99 per cent
people there would vote to
become a part of the Union
of India," Anjuman Minhaje-Rasool chairman Maulana
Syed Athar Dehlavi told reporters here.
Dehlavi, who was in
Jammu after a five-day visit
to flood affected areas of
Jammu and Kashmir, said the
separatists in Kashmir has
lost their grounds and the
people in the Valley are talking about good governance
and development.
"The separatists in Kashmir have lost their ground
and the people in the Valley
are discussing issues like
good governance, development and education. They
are not bothered about what
a handful of people are saying," Dehlavi said.
Dehlavi said during his
visit to Kashmir he found
that the flood-affected people
were all praise for the relief
and
rescue
operations
launched by the army.
"The people are praising
the army as their savior. The
army has done a wonderful
job in Kashmir. The people
in Kashmir have now realised that the army is their real
savior," he said.
Dehlavi also praised
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi for his "people
friendly" policies in Jammu
and Kashmir and the country.
He said his Anjuman
Minhaj-e-Rasool was the
only Islamic organisation that
raised voice against Al-Qaida
and other terrorist groups.
"When Kashmiri Pandits
were forced to leave Kashmir we raised objection in the
OIC in Jeddah and we were
the one to condemn Osama
Bin Laden and now we are
strongly condemning Islamic
State," Dehlavi said. ––PTI
Denied ticket, sitting
BJP MLA in JK
joins Congress
JAMMU, Nov 9: Denied
ticket to contest Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir,
senior BJP leader and sitting
MLA Jagdish Raj Sapolia today joined Congress. Sapolia,
the legislator from Basohli constituency, is among the seven
sitting MLAs from BJP who
have not been given ticket by
the party to contest the Assembly elections.
"As I have joined Congress today, my job will be to
carry forward the Congress
manifesto in my area," Sapolia
said.
The MLA, who initially
denied to talk about the reason for leaving BJP and
termed it a "personal matter",
later said the denial of ticket
was the reason for leaving the
party.
He said though he worked
for BJP for six years, the
party did not accept him.
"The party (BJP) did not
accept me. The party created
problems for me and created
an environment wherein I had
to leave it," he said.
When asked whether Congress has assured him of the
party mandate, Sapolia said,
"We have left it to the Congress
high
command."
Welcoming him to the party,
Senior Vice President of
Pradesh Congress Committee
Thakur Hari Singh said, "We
welcome him back home as
he had left Congress to join
BJP.

The findings of the medical
board had pointed to the presence of poison in her viscera.
The reports said the residue of
alprax tablets found in her was
non-fatal, ruling out overdose
of sleeping pills. The police had
earlier said there were traces of
urine on Sunanda's bed but had
not disclosed anything about
traces of fluid on the carpet.
The suite was kept sealed
all these months and was
opened for the first time since
the initial police investigation.
Earlier, Yahoo and Google had
provided information regarding
Pushkar's email and chat conversations with various persons
on these platforms, along with
IP addresses.
Based on the information,
police has made a list of the
people with whom the wife of
former Union minister Shashi
Tharoor had communicated
and who may now be quizzed
in this regard. Sunanda
Pushkar, 52, was found dead

SURAT, Nov 9: Embarrassed
by Thursday's incident of a
buffalo hitting a SpiceJet
aircraft on the runway of
airport controlled by the
Airport Authority of India
(AAI) in the city, Surat
Municipal
Corporation
(SMC) authorities on Friday
began a survey to find out the
number of cowsheds in the
vicinity of the airport.
A few cowsheds that existed along the boundary
wall of the airport were removed on Friday by the
SMC, which has had a late
realization that the airport
area should be a 'no stray
cattle zone', sources said.
There are more than 40
cowsheds within a 200-metre radius of the airport.
Private land owners at
Magdalla and Bhimpore villages had allotted space to
members of Bharwad community to guard their plots
and carry out the milk business, the sources added.
Municipal commissioner
Milind Torawane told TOI,
"We are framing a special
policy to declare the airport
area as 'no stray cattle zone'.
Official sources said the
SMC had recently framed a
policy for illegal cowsheds
in the city under which
Bharwads were to be allotted government land in the
outskirts of the city. The
civic body had identified the
existence of 189 illegal cowsheds on government lands
that needed to be shifted.
