PUBLIC INFORMATION OF ROAD CLOSURES DURING
THE WELLAND SANTA CLAUS PARADE
This is to notify residents of a temporary closure of East Main Street from
King Street to Wellington Street. All roads that intersect with East Main Street
will be closed. The closure will be in effect from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. on
Saturday, November 22, 2014. Cross Street and The Boardwalk will be closed
after the parade for holiday events as well.
The detour route will utilize Wellington Street, Lincoln Street and Prince
Charles Drive. For any questions regarding the above please contact Bryan
Purins at (905) 735-1700 x 2212.

This year Toys for Tots and Giant FM have partnered
together and joined us at the Parade!
Volunteers, along with the Mayor’s Youth Advisory
Council will be collecting unwrapped toys along the
route. Look for the Giant FM Vehicle! Toys can also
be donated inside City Hall during our Children’s
Holiday Party. Thank you for your generosity!
In addition, the rock n’ roll band Fear The
Worst will be performing live outside on stage
after Santa lights the tree. Let’s dance and
celebrate with the Children of Welland!

NOTICE
Pursuant to City of Welland By-law 2013-127 and O. Reg 332/12
The Council of the Corporation of the City of Welland intends to consider a staff
report establishing and, in certain cases, increasing City of Welland service
charges and user fees for 2015. The following areas are affected:
• Corporate Services (Transit Division)
• Integrated Services (Planning Division, Building Division,
Recreation and Culture Division)
• Infrastructure Services (Cemetery, By-Law Enforcement,
Sanitary Sewers and Waterworks)
• Fire Services
A Public Meeting is scheduled during the Special Council Meeting on Tuesday,
December 9, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 60 East Main
Street, Welland. Any person who attends has the opportunity to make a
presentation with respect to the proposed rate changes. In order for Council
to hear from as many residents as possible, presentations are limited to 10
minutes per presenter.
A copy of Report FIN-2014-22 and the draft List of User/Service Fees
will be available, at no cost, on December 5, 2014, at the City of Welland,
Finance Department, 60 East Main Street, Welland.

Part Time Market Square Attendant
10 hours a week
The City of Welland is seeking a Part Time Market Square Attendant for 10 hours per
week. Under the direction of the Manager of Recreation and Culture, the Market Square
Attendant is responsible to coordinate and implement the operational requirements
related to the Market Square facilities; assist with the planning and execution of special
events, performances, festivals, community celebrations and market promotions; gather
information and submit weekly reports (i.e. public and vendor attendance, incident
reports, work orders, etc.) and; provide information and assistance to vendors and
patrons.
The successful candidate requires:
1. A Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Business Management.
2. Minimum of (3) years related working experience is required.
3. Demonstrated ability to maintain facilities, grounds and equipment.
4. Well developed customer service skills. Ability to deal effectively and courteously
with the public, external organizations and staff.
5. Ability to prepare written reports and complete cash transactions.
6. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
The rate of pay for this position is $12.90 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
