Spooktacular and Monster Mash
Spooktacular: We would like to thank everyone that
attended this year’s Halloween Spooktacular to make it
the best turnout that the Club has ever had with an attendance of 175 people. The night was full of Trick-orTreating, candy, food, and socializing. We hope that our
members and their guests had as great of a time as we did. We would also like to extend
a very special thank you to Mandy DuBose, Stacey Hardison, Tara
Jackson, Yvonne Rackley, Elizabeth Rogers, and everyone else
that helped make this event a huge success.
Monster Mash: The 2nd Annual Coharie Monster Mash was a hit
and will be back again next year. This event turned out to be a fun
-filled night with creative costumes, food, music and karaoke.

The Sampson Classic
The Sampson Classic, in memory of William M. Johnson, Jr., will host a silent auction at Coharie Country Club on Thursday,
November 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the ballroom. The golf tournament will be held on Friday, November 7th, at Lakewood Country Club with a 10:00 am shotgun start. Entries are due by October 31st. For more information, contact Lisa Turlington or Brandon Wiggins at 592-8081 ext. 2042 or 2043 or [email protected].
New Greens Mower
It seems like when it rains, it pours! During the month of September, our greens mower had a stabilizing
bracket to break on the motor. As a result, the motor was severely damaged. Estimated costs to repair the
unit was well over $6000. Taking into consideration the age of the mower and the number of hours the unit
had ran, the Board of Directors decided to purchase a newer greens mower. It just so happened at the time,
John Deere had a “Demo” greens mower that they were ready to sell. Their unit, which was the same type
of unit Coharie was using, had less than eighty hours of use. It made since to purchase this unit because of the cost savings compared to a brand new unit, and the fact that Coharie could use the parts from the older unit just in case something happened to the
demo mower. Our Superintendent, Randy Folger, has been very pleased with John Deere’s service department and their sales representatives. During the time our mower was down, John Deere loaned Coharie a unit to use while the Board decided on the best
course of action. Randy expects the new mower to arrive the first week of November.
