How to setup REW with Umik-‐1 on a Mac in Mountain Lion (10.8.4) by Taichiman (7/19/2013) Open LineIn and set as follows: Be sure all the “advanced options in Select are default Then, Be sure to activate Pass Thru. The LineIn app must be open when using REW. Now go to Finder>Go Menu>Utilities>Audio MIDI Setup and set the following: Select “Input” in the right panel. Highlight Soundflower in the left pane, use the gear menu at the bottom left to select Soundflower (2ch) as the input (it will then show the microphone icon associated with Soundflower like below). Be sure everything in the right panel is as shown below: sure it Select Umik-‐1 in t set as below: N e h t Um k-‐1 he calibration file f r y ur Set Soundflower to the following using the sound flower icon in the menu bar: That’s it. You should be done. The way that I knew that things were NOT initially set correctly on my machine was that I was getting VERY DIFFERENT SPL traces from 20-‐20,000 Hz depending on “length” setting the sweep was set for. THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN!!! Setting the length to higher settings extends the length of time for the sweep and collects more data points/frequency (which would theoretically make the data more accurate at the expense of computation time to perform the Fourier transform) but it should not “demonstrably” affect the overall SPL trace. Good luck!
