Fall 2014 Enhancements
We continue to listen to our users to make specific improvements to the SimChart for the Medical Office product. The
next update is scheduled for Fall 2014. On October 25, we will be incorporating enhancements that have largely been
drive by user feedback. Customers will not need to do anything; these updates will automatically appear in their course.
Here is an overview of what is coming.
1. Workers’ Compensation
A Worker’s Compensation section has been added to the Patient Information Form, Patient Demographics, and the
Claim.
 After selecting a provider from the Insurance dropdown menu, the contact information for the selected provider
will auto-populate.
 The Group Number field and the Upload Insurance Card link are removed since WC does not include this
information.

2. Increased Auto-population of Data
We have increased the amount of auto-populated fields throughout the application where appropriate, without
sacrificing any critical thinking practice.
Correspondence
Email addresses auto-populate after conducting a Patient Search.
Workers’ Compensation
In the Patient Information form and Patient Demographics the newly added WC fields will auto-populate throughout the
application based on selection from Insurance dropdown.

Insurance
In the Patient Information form and Patient Demographics insurance fields will now auto-populate throughout the
application based on the value selected from Insurance dropdown menu.
Providers
Within the Provider fields the information now auto-populates based on selection from Primary Provider dropdown
menu.
3. Coding & Billing links
The View Fee Schedule link is now available at all times within the Coding & Billing module. Previously, users first had to
make a selection from the Info Panel to access this link.

4. Field Label Changes
Order Entry
The in-office order previously labeled as “Cerumen Removal” has been changed to the less specific “Ear Irrigation” in
order to encompass more procedures.

The Miscarriage field from Pregnancy History was removed because it is already addressed by the “Spontaneous” field.

Patient Dashboard
The SSN field was changed to a Policy/ID field in the Insurance section to remain compliant with HIPAA. The contact
information was also modified to avoid text wrapping within the columns.

5. Inventory Form
The Inventory form is now electronic. The previous version has been renamed “Purchase Order” and remains as a readonly PDF within the Office Forms section of the Form Repository.

6. Printing Assignment Description
Users can print the assignment description from the assignment landing page and within the simulation.
