Don’t Miss Sunday’s In November!
1st Christian is always a great place to be on Sundays and
November Sundays are no exception. We have so many exciting
plans for Sundays this month we crammed another Sunday in to give
us 5 this month!
November 2nd – We continue our sermon series “How to be Rich”. We learned that we are richer than we think and need to not put our
trust in riches, but in Him who richly provides. Now we will learn
how to make sure that our hope stays in God.
November 9th – Honor Sunday is a special combined service at
10:30 in which we honor those who have and are serving in our
country’s military. If you are serving, or have served, we encourage
you to come be a part of this service. Our own Bill Clark will share a
special message of honor, prayer and sacrifice.
November 16th – David Brundage returns our attention to the “How
to be Rich” series. Because Jason and Eric will be out of town,
David will lead worship, preach and teach Sunday school all with
one arm tied behind his back. November 23rd – Join the church family for a traditional fellowship
dinner on this special Sunday before Thanksgiving. Bring a dish to
share and the church will provide the setting and drinks. Best dinner
in town, and great fellowship too!
November 30th – We start a new sermon series and kick off the
Christmas season with “The Thrill of Hope”. People waited with
great anticipation for the Christ. For so long God seemed silent. We
will look at the story of 3 people effected by this great anticipation,
and the Thrill of God keeping his promise.
For the Cause of Christ,
Jason

If we have missed your birthday, please contact the church
office at 263-1204. Sorry we missed your special day!
1)Shoe Box
Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small
plastic container. You can wrap the box (lid separately),
but wrapping is not required. Most importantly, pray for
the child who will receive your gift.
2)Boy or Girl
Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl,
and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark the
correct age category on the label (from the packing
brochure, or print from online @www.
samaritan’spurse.com) and tape the label to the top of
your box.
3) Fill with Gifts
Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child. See packing flyer for gift ideas.
4) Include $7 Donation
Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give
online by using our “Follow Your Box Donation” option, or you can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC”
on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are
preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation.
5) Drop Off
Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop it off at the church NO LATER THAN Sunday,
November 16.
National collection week is November 17-24, 2014.
