nutrition, lunch break and after school.
Attention Students in grades 10-12. Post secondary evening is coming up. Representatives from
various schools will be here. SFU will present at 7 and UBC will present at 7:45 in the theatre. See
you Nov. 19 starting at 6.
Also, 11 other institutes will be here with information to share. We look forward to seeing you
here on November 19th from 6pm to 8:30pm.
Any students interested in attending McGill University are welcome to attend an information
session on Nov. 21st at lunch. We will meet in the library classroom.
BCIT is hosting an information session. Any students interested in their programs can register
through BCIT’s website. The event is happening on Nov 19th from 5pm – 8pm.
Mondays at lunch in the mat room there will be Yoga to Support Mental health. Come on Mondays
Wildcats!

The senior Football team won their final game of the year against Earl Marriott with a score of
28-19.
EarlMarriott started strong but central's defence began to shut them done halfway through the
first quarter. At half time the score was 13-8 for earl marriott. Then the offence kicked in with a
70 yards for a touchdown by tai vikilani. He continued to pound on their defence until they
couldn't stand. Offensive stars were tai, Trevor lougheed, Sam Harper and the entire offence line.

Louis Riel Week
The date of November 16th marks 129 years since the 1885 Metis Resistance when Louis Riel
joined other Metis leaders including Gabriel Dumont in standing up for Metis right and our
nation. Wise, determined and courageous, Riel lead the Northwest Resistance and paid the
ultimate sacrifice for the pride of his culture and the love of his people – the Metis.

Hello Wildcats! Come on down to the Library and read some of this year’s Wildcats Read titles.
Everytime you read one of the titles you will be entered in a draw to win a prize! You have until
the end of January 2015.
Anyone interested in playing on the grade 9 & 10 boys basketball team this year. There will be
open gym on Wednesday after school and also Friday after school.

Do you love art? Join the art club every Thursday after school at Mr. Steko’s room in B120.
UBC’s Department of Computer Science is hosting weekend workshops. Interested students
can register at www.techtrek.ca. This is open for all students from grade 8-12. Topics covered
include programming, game design and robots.
The time has come for all grade 12’s to submit their grad write-ups for this years yearbook. It
must be no longer than 500 characters to submit your grade write-up, please go to the Burnaby
Central’s website where you will find a link under Graduation Information.
GIRLS: Do you want to get fit and have fun? Come out to an ALL Girls Fitness class Tuesdays &
Thursdays 3:30-4:45 after school with Ms. Mizuro. Tuesdays will be an exercise to music class
in the wrestling room and Thursdays will be circuit training in the weight room. Free personal
instruction included!
Reminder to all Grade 10s, 11s and 12s to start their DPA logs. New start dates, end dates and
how to start an account can be found on the Burnaby Central Website. See Ms. Morabito or Ms.
Neves in room A233 in period 1 if you have any questions.
