OBJECTIVES – By the end of this symposium the participant will be able to: • State new and emerging trends in palliative care for patients and their families. • Review case studies for patients with hematological malignancies and describe how to care for that patient population. • State new and emerging colo-rectal surgery technologies as part of the treatment of cancer. • Access a patient’s breast cancer case and appraise the whole treatment process. • Identify what is a secondary trauma and describe what steps to take once recognized.
