It’s nothing personal. I’ve already been there. And I have a public to answer to – as do you. But I will remind you – you sought the office of an elected official. You are no longer a private citizen. You no longer enjoy the anonymity that private citizens enjoy. Your every decision, every move and action, is subject to public scrutiny, and as a member of the Fourth Estate, it is my duty and the duty of the editorial staff of this newspaper to report on these actions and decisions. While some publications choose to paint things in a positive light, hindering their duty to the public, we will not. We will treat you fairly, but at the end of the day, our duty is to the public. I look forward to working with each and every one of you, as does every member of the editorial staff of this newspaper.
