Winter Recital, 2014, requirements for stage: Final preparations for Winter Recital 2014 are complete. Dancer check
list: all ballet, tumbling and dancers must wear Capezio “ballet pink” color tights; all tap I-II, jazz I-II, and adult jazz/tap
must wear caramel tights. Jazz dancers wear beige jazz shoes. Oscar’s tumbling classes wear white tumbling shoes.
Everyone must wear a beige basic under costumes, and wear stage make-up colors from the make-up kit sold at the front
desk. All female dancers must wear their hair in a neat secured bun which doesn’t come apart. No bangs. Jewelry is not
allowed on stage. Dancers in pre-ballet on Tuesday will need to bring their own teddy bear to dance with. Dancers and
parents will come backstage 3 numbers before their child’s dance. Only one parent per dancer allowed backstage. Parents
of dancers in levels III and above do not need to be backstage. Dancers age 4 years of age and older are invited to dance in
the “Finale.”
Tickets for Winter Recital 2014 go on sale on Friday, November 21, from 2:00 - 7:00 pm. Outstanding balances and
December tuition must be paid in full before tickets can be purchased. All seats at the McAllen Civic Center auditorium
are reserved for $10.00. Everyone must have a ticket to enter the auditorium. Stage make-up for the show is available for
purchase at the front desk for $20.00.

The Dance Academy will be closed for Thanksgiving Holidays from Nov. 26-29, Regular classes resume on Dec. 1st.
The Dance Academy will be closed for classes on Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13. Students taking class on
Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13, will get 2 complimentary tickets to Winter Recital.
For Christmas Holidays from Dec. 22-Jan. 3, 2015. Regular classes resume Jan. 5, 2015. All holidays are calculated into
your tuition cost.
Costume order forms for the Annual All Academy Spring Recital-Ballet Gala, 2015 will go on sale beginning Dec. 1st.
The Spring Recital Ballet Gala, 2015 is set for Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 am. Dress rehearsal will be on Friday, May
22, from 5:30-8:30 pm.
Dec. 6, at 6:00 pm City of McAllen presents Holiday Parade, 2014, select dancers in The Nutcracker will perform in this
first event for the City on Bicentennial Blvd. Details TBA.

Dance Academy Policy Reminders
Dancers are not to wear their shoes outside of the building.
Keep the dance floors clean by carrying the dance shoes in a bag.
No powder or lotion is allowed in the dance studios.
All dancers must wear their hair in a bun for all classes. Jewelry is not allowed.
No food, candy or drinks allowed in studios.
Parents are expected to pick up their child promptly after class.
Parents can be kept informed of class changes online at dcda.com.
Parents are not allowed inside studios. Classes can be view on monitors in the lobby.
Class dress code must be followed. Dress code is found on back of the printed class schedule.
Dancers are expected to arrive on time for class.
parents must keep the front desk informed of any phone, address or class changes.
Missed classes must be made up within 2 weeks and you are allowed 1 per month.
Reminder: Tuition is always due the 1st of every month.
We do not send out a monthly bill or a statement. A late fee of $25.00 is charged after the 10th of the month for
any unpaid tuition. Tuition can be mailed to 5240 N. 10th Street, McAllen, Tx. 78504 if necessary. Dancers are
considered enrolled unless the front desk has been notified otherwise. Students will be dropped after 2 months
of absences and re-enroll to return to class. There is an annual registration charge of $30.00. Holidays are
calculated into tuition plan.
