Dear Parents and Students,
FOR MORE THAN 13 years, Ready, Set, Dance has provided students with an exciting
performance experience through its May Recital. The Recital—that annual staple of the
dance school—conjures images of childhood and Americana for many. It’s a rite of passage
for thousands of youngsters, a chance to shine in front of family and friends that they
anticipate with nervous excitement.
The Recital offers our students a professionally-directed performance which allows them to
present to their families and friends the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and
progress.
A big part of dance training is learning through performance. Although performance
opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also
contribute to success in non-dance activities for other students. The performing experience
helps build self-esteem and self-confidence and can result in better in-school presentations,
improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities.
The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps the children
develop retention skills and, by working with their classmates on a group performance, they
learn the positive aspects of working as a team to create the best end-result.
Dedication to Recital commitments is the responsibility of both students and their parents.
We’ve created this handbook in an effort to clarify what we expect from you in terms of
commitments and responsibility to the annual Recital, the school, and other students and
parents.

We work hard to make the dance experience organized and fun. Keeping you informed is one
of our primary goals. Please read all newsletters and other school information.
Newsletters and important updates are sometimes printed and handed out to our students at
the conclusion of class. The same newsletters and updates are always emailed to you and
posted on the Ready, Set, Dance website and Facebook page.

As the season progresses, additional Recital information or updates will be posted on the
studio website www.readysetdance.com, in monthly newsletters, and on the school bulletin
board. Make it your responsibility to keep abreast of this important information. Our goal is
to make the Recital an organized, exciting experience for everyone involved. It’s a team
effort--students, parents, teachers and the director are key players in the show’s success.
Home Study
To ensure that the students feel confident about their performance, we ask parents and
guardians to encourage them to rehearse their Recital choreography on a regular basis. A
copy of your child’s dance music will be available at the start of the season. Simply bring a
blank CD in with your child’s name and class days/times on it and we will burn them a copy
of their music.
Our goal is to make the Recital an organized, exciting experience for everyone
involved.
PART 2: Costumes
We spend many hours selecting the costumes for each class. They are always age-appropriate
and of the highest quality possible. Preschool students will need one costume--all other
students will need one costume for each discipline they train in. Costumes include all
accessories and tights, but not dance shoes.
NOTE: No jewelry or underwear is to be worn with costumes. This includes during Dress
Rehearsals and performances and when class pictures are taken.
Fees and Payment
In an effort to ensure that costumes are delivered in time for school photographs and an
organized distribution to our students, costume orders are placed the beginning of January.
Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds; therefore, Ready,
Set, Dance does not refund costume deposits.

Parents or guardians accept full responsibility for all expenses, including surcharges and
postage for costumes that are ordered late. Ready, Set, Dance is not responsible if costumes
are not received in time for the Recital due to late payments.
No refunds will be made if a parent or guardian withdraws a child from the school after
costumes have been ordered and prior to the Recital. Purchased costumes may be picked up
at the school during the costume distribution period and up to 15 days after the performance.
Costumes not picked up after 15 days will be donated to charity.
Costumes are always age-appropriate and of the highest quality possible.
Alterations
Although rare, alterations are sometimes needed after the costumes have been distributed and
are the sole responsibility of the student’s parent or guardian. Please contact the Dance Studio
Desk for recommended dressmakers.
Distribution
Costumes will be distributed when all outstanding balances for the season (including tuition
and late fees) are paid in full. The deadline for all costume balances due is February 28.
Please try on all costumes and accessories (except for tights) as soon as you take them home.
This allows you to account for all accessories and determine whether alterations are needed.
Doing this well in advance of the Recital minimizes stress at performance time.
Costume care
We recommend that you label all costumes, shoes, accessories, and tights with your child’s
name. Place the costumes in a garment bag with your child’s name on the outside. Pack
accessories in a clear plastic bag (labeled with your child’s name). Hats should be stored in a
hatbox or similar container to prevent damage. Please do not wash costumes in your washing
machine—only dry clean them (after the Recital).
Remove any tags that could hang out of the costume.
If costume straps do not have snaps or are not attached, please sew them prior to picture day.
Never cross the straps unless specified by the teacher.
Many costumes come with headpieces or hats. We will determine how the headpieces will be
worn at picture day.
NOTE: To ensure there are no costume problems, students should not wear their costumes,
accessories, or tights prior to the photo session, Dress Rehearsal, or performance.
Costumes with fringe
You will notice a string at the bottom of most fringe skirts or trim, which is to keep the fringe
from getting tangled before pictures or performance. Please do not pull the string until picture
day. After that date, please place fringe skirts on a hanger to keep them from getting tangled.

Ironing
We do not recommend using a traditional iron when pressing costumes. Silks can burn,
sequins can melt, and fabric colors may change. Please only use a steam iron. Iron costumes
with caution because of glues that may have been used to attach appliqués and/or trim. This is
needed in rare cases--usually just hanging up the costume will allow the wrinkles to fall out
naturally.
Tutu Maintenance
Grasp the waist and give it a gentle shake, then use your fingers to “comb” out any pieces of
tulle that are wrinkled. To store a tutu, put it on a hanger upside down. To help remove
persistent wrinkles, hang the tutu in the bathroom during a shower or use a handheld steamer.
We recommend that you label all costumes, shoes, accessories, and tights with
your child’s name.
Costume racks
A wheeled clothing rack is a smart investment if your child has several costumes. It keeps the
costumes organized, prevents wrinkles, and provides some privacy during costume changes.
Hang costumes on the rack in the order they will be needed during the show.
TIPS: COSTUME COMMON SENSE
Always have a second pair of tights available.
Place costumes in a garment bag for travel.
Carry hats in a hatbox or container to prevent them from damage.
Hang costumes before each performance.
Place your name in all costumes and shoes.
Quick Costume Changes
During the Recital, some students may have quick costume changes. A special team of
teachers will assist these students--costumes and accessories will be placed in the backstage
area.
Costume Cover-ups
Students must wear a cover-up when in costume but not performing. A bathrobe or sweats
work best. The cover-up helps keep the muscles warm and prevents costumes from becoming
soiled.
PART 3: Tights and Shoes
Tights
To ensure there are no discrepancies in color and style, all students within a class are required
to have the same tights for that class. A pair of tights will be included with the costume;
however you must sign them out at the Dance Studio Desk beginning March 16. It is highly
recommended to have back-up tights, which can be purchased at the Dance Studio. Be sure to
purchase the correct style and color. Do not wear or wash them before the Dress Rehearsal or
performance. (Note: Having a second pair of tights on hand offers students and parents a
great sense of security.)

Shoes and Dancewear
All dancers within the same dance class must have the same style and type of dance shoe.
Check with your dance teacher to make sure that your child has the correct shoe. If you
purchase dance shoes just before the Recital, please break them in (indoors) so they are
pliable and comfortable for the Recital. Ready, Set, Dance offers dancewear and shoes for
individual purchase at any time during the school year. However, we may not always have
your child’s size in stock so, to avoid last minute stress, order new shoes for Recital in April.
Having a second pair of tights on hand offers students and parents a great sense
of security.
PART 4: Hair and Makeup
All female students are required to wear makeup for the Recital: red lipstick, blush, eye
shadow (not blue) and mascara.
Uniform hairstyles are required. All female students must wear their hair in a bun, unless
otherwise specified by their dance teacher. No bangs or beads are allowed. Dancers with
short hair must pull their hair away from the face and slick it down.
The Ready, Set, Dance competition moms offer a hair and makeup service for Dress
Rehearsal and both Recitals for a small fee benefiting the competition team. Signups are
limited for this service and will begin on April 18.

Red or a dark pink lipstick
Red or a dark pink blush
Eyebrow pencil (if eyebrows are light)
Black waterproof mascara
Older Girls Only:
Eye Shadow (Browns or tans only). No blue eye shadow!
Eyeliner (Only for older, more advanced girls.)
No bangs or beads are allowed.
Dancers with short hair must pull their hair away from the face and slick it down.
Hair
As a rule, all girls in the Recital must have their hair in a bun. By using an inexpensive
hairnet, you can easily make a neat ballet bun! Hairnets can be purchased at the Dance
Studio or at any drugstore in the hair accessories’ aisle! They come in several shades to
match your child’s hair and come in a package of three for around $2!
PART 5: Be Prepared
Planning
The Recital isn’t a one-day activity. Gather all costumes, accessories, shoes, and makeup
several days in advance so you’ll know if something is missing or isn’t right. Make a

checklist of your child’s routines, listing the costume, tights, shoes, and any accessories and
refer to it to make sure you have all your supplies before going to the theater.
Bring at least one extra pair of tights of each color. Also bring extra hair gel, hairnets, bobby
pins, and hairspray.
TIPS: OTHER HANDY EXTRAS
Baby wipes/Shout wipes (to fix makeup mistakes or wash hands)
Baby powder (for itchy costumes)
Safety pins (for emergency costume repairs)
Clear nail polish (to repair minor holes or runs in tights when there isn’t time to change
them)
Your pain reliever of choice
Band-Aids (the “invisible” kind)
Snacks
Please do not send your child to the Dress Rehearsal or Recital with snacks or beverages that
could stain their costumes. Water is the best beverage; please do not send juice boxes or other
sticky beverages. And never give them chocolate bars!
PART 6: Dress Rehearsal
Participation in the Dress Rehearsal is mandatory. The Dress Rehearsal allows the students to
become familiar with the auditorium surroundings and feel comfortable with their
performance, costume(s), and being onstage. Lighting, music cues, set changes, and all other
logistics for an organized and professional performance are rehearsed so the students make
the best impression possible.
Why a Dress Rehearsal?
Often parents question the importance of the Dress Rehearsal for their child. In fact, the key
to a successful performance for your child is the Dress Rehearsal. Here’s why:
• The stage is much larger than the classroom and is often intimidating to the children.
• The stage lights can be frightening and disorienting to young children.
• Modifications to the choreography can be made at Dress Rehearsal. A student who
misses the rehearsal will not have the chance to practice any of the changes onstage.
• Students often rely on the classroom mirrors to help them with spacing and formations.
Having the chance to dance without the security of the mirror before the performance is
very important for their confidence.
• Students have the chance to practice their stage entrances and exits and get used to
being in such a large space.
• Confidence is critical to a successful performance. The Dress Rehearsal offers your
child the chance to feel ready for the show.
The Dress Rehearsal is the only opportunity for parents to videotape or take pictures of
the show.

And there’s another big reason why the Dress Rehearsal is important: One of the main
objectives of our curriculum is to teach the spirit of teamwork and commitment to classmates.
When children miss the rehearsal, the result can be confusion for the remaining students (an
absence affects spacing and timing).
We run an organized and timely Dress Rehearsal--your help with the process will guarantee a
professional production. Please arrive at least 25 minutes before your scheduled rehearsal
time. (Approximate Dress Rehearsal times will be posted on the Dance Studio bulletin board,
the website and will be emailed to you.)

When: Sunday May 17 - From 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
More exact times will be posted on the bulletin board and the website. You must be there 25
minutes prior to the posted time. We will do our best to stay on schedule.
When you bring your child to the auditorium, she should already be dressed in her first
costume with a cover-up over it (a large shirt that buttons up, a robe or beach cover-up). She
should have the correct tights on for her first dance, hair done, and makeup on. Bring the
correct dance shoes and put them on your child when you leave them with their class. Take
her street shoes with you.
For Dress Rehearsal you will take your child inside the auditorium, and look for the row of
seats that has the name of your child’s dance on it. All dancers will sit with their class and
the moms that have volunteered for that class. Leave your child with the volunteer mom, and
then you will sit in another section of the auditorium. Parents, please only two adults (no
siblings) should bring the dancer to Dress Rehearsal--this is very important. We will
issue two (2) wristbands to the adults who will bring the child to Dress Rehearsal. Only
those parents with a wristband will be allowed to enter. Wristbands will be issued
beginning March 16.
Your child will be lined up, taken backstage, and then led on stage to do their dance. After
they dance, they will be taken back to the same row of seats. You may then take them home!
If your child is in more than one dance, they will change costumes in the backstage dressing
room and then go sit with their class.
There will be classes the week following Dress Rehearsal, and these are very important! It
will be our only chance to correct any problems we encountered on the stage.
Dressing-Room Etiquette
Students must respect other students’ space and property in the dressing rooms. The students
will spend more time in the dressing rooms than onstage or in the auditorium, so please do
your best to keep them organized and clean. No food or drink is allowed in the dressing
rooms.

Dress Rehearsal Guests
Two adults may accompany each student to the Dress Rehearsal. Please, no siblings who do
not dance! Wristbands must be worn to enter Dress Rehearsal and can be checked out
beginning Monday March 16. Additional attendees at the Dress Rehearsal must purchase a
wrist band for $8.
READY, SET, DANCE
RECITAL INFORMATION
Where: Olympia High School Auditorium (entrance off Apopka Vineland)
4301 S. Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, Florida 32835
When: Saturday, May 30 – The Recital starts promptly at 5:30 PM. All dancers in Act One
must be there by 4:45 PM.
Doors to the auditorium will open for the audience at 5:00 PM. If you arrive after the show
has started (5:30 PM) you may not be allowed to enter until there is a break in dances.
Sunday, May 31 - The Recital starts promptly at 3:00 PM. All dancers in Act One must be
there by 2:15 PM.
Doors to the auditorium will open for the audience at 2:30 PM. If you arrive after the show
has started (3:00 PM) you may not be allowed to enter until there is a break in dances.
The evening/day of Recital you will enter through a different area than Dress Rehearsal. Do
not go into the auditorium with the dancer! This year all dancers will wait in the school
cafeteria (except those dancers who have already been told they will be backstage). The
school cafeteria is located to the right of the auditorium (as you face the auditorium) and
there will be a sign that says something similar to “Dancers Entrance.” Only one female
adult will be allowed to bring the child to the cafeteria! Dads/Males are not allowed as
girls are also changing in this area! Again, this is very important, the area is very small!
For the safety of our dancers, the less people the better. Please do not bring strollers,
grandparents, siblings into the cafeteria! Once you enter the cafeteria, look for the sign
with the name of your child’s dance on it. This is where your child will stay. Please know
the name of your child’s dance.
*Leave them with the chaperone for that class.
*Child should already have their hair and makeup done and should be in their first costume,
with correct tights and a cover-up over their costume.
*Please take all children to the restrooms before you drop them off with their class. (There
are restrooms in the cafeteria.)
*Bring the correct dance shoes with you and put them on your child in the dressing area.
*No food will be allowed in the cafeteria, only water bottles that can be tightly sealed.
*Take your child’s street shoes with you.
*Please make sure that your child’s costume and shoes have his/her name in them.
*You may then proceed back outside, to the lobby and into the auditorium.
If you are volunteering to help, there will be a volunteer check-in table as soon as you enter
the cafeteria area. Please stop and get your name badge and instructions and then proceed
with your child to the designated area.

We will once again be doing reserved seating for both Recitals--this made things much
easier for everyone! You will actually choose your seats and will have an assigned row
and seat. At the time you purchase tickets, you will need to know for which day you
need the tickets and how many you need. Tickets will be cash or check only… No credit
cards!
This means that for the first time dancers will not be allowed to sit with you and watch
the show, unless:
A) You purchase a ticket for them at the same time you purchase yours; or
B) They are 3 years old or younger and can sit on your lap.
However, we are blocking out a section of seats in one area of the auditorium that
dancers may sit in if they wish to watch the show. This section will be chaperoned by
volunteers and is for student dancers only. (There will not be a charge for student
dancers to sit in the student dancer section.) You will simply take them to this section,
drop them off and then return to your seat. You will not be allowed to sit with them.
If your child is only in Act One, you can pick them up during the intermission and take
them to the student dancer section, unless you have purchased a ticket for them to sit
with you.
If your child is only in Act Two, they can sit in the student section and watch Act One,
(unless you purchased a ticket for them to sit with you), and then you will take them to
the cafeteria during intermission. You can then pick them up between Act Two and Act
Three and they can return to the student dancer section to watch the show.
If your child is only in Act Three, they can sit in the student dancer section and watch
Act One and Act Two (unless you purchased a ticket for them to sit with you). You will
then bring them to the cafeteria during the intermission after Act Two. There will be
coloring books and games in the cafeteria.
Parents, you will only be allowed to pick up or drop off your child during the
intermission. Do not come to the cafeteria during Act One, Act Two, or Act Three. If
your child has more than one dance, there will be people to help them change their
costume. Again, we will only release children during intermission! Please help us to
keep your children safe by following these rules!
All dancers sitting in the audience must have a cover-up over their costume!
If your child is in all three Acts, they will remain backstage the entire time.
We will have movies, coloring books etc., to entertain them while they are waiting.
Those who have quick costume changes will be in the backstage dressing rooms closest to the
stage. There will be adults assigned to help them with their costume changes. All costumes
should be organized with the appropriate tights, shoes and accessories. Use hangers, zip
locks etc., and label everything with the name of your child and the name of the dance. If
your child has a quick change, they have already been notified.
For many of the dancers, this is the first time performing in a Recital and on stage, so I would

like to make this as stress free as possible!
Here are some things that will make that possible:
No photography! This is very distracting and can be seriously dangerous to those
dancers tumbling. Several of you ignored this rule last year and my dancers were very
upset when they came off of the stage!
This year, due to our contract with the company videotaping the Recital, we will not
allow any videotaping of the Recital. You may videotape only during Dress Rehearsal.
Last year we had a huge problem with parents getting up and down in the audience-you may only get your dancer during intermission! Please parents, respect the fact that
a lot of work on the part of both your child and the staff of Ready, Set, Dance has
been put into this Recital. It is very stressful to everyone when the rules are not
followed. Ultimately, it is your child’s safety that is our biggest concern.
Please be aware that although your child may not be on stage, someone else’s is! Try
to limit the number of times that you get in and out of your seat. The dancers can see
into the audience and the little ones can easily be distracted by a lot of movement.
Also, although we welcome siblings, they must be able to remain seated and quiet
throughout the entire show.

Audience Etiquette
Theater etiquette is different from an outdoor sports event. Applause is appreciated, but
yelling names or loud cheering is prohibited.
Courtesy is contagious. If the adults practice courtesy, the children will learn from that.
Please remain seated through each entire Act. Because we present a professional
performance, we ask that everyone remain seated during the entire performance. If you do
leave the auditorium during the show you will be allowed back into the auditorium only
between dances. This rule is strictly enforced; please do not create a disturbance with the
auditorium ushers with regard to this policy.
Please turn off all cell phones, pagers etc., during the performance.
Please present any flowers or gifts to your “Star” following the show. Do not approach the
stage at any time—including intermission.
Do not visit the dressing rooms during the show. This will help our volunteers to safely keep
track of all dancers and to make sure they are lined-up and ready to perform.
Some of you have inquired as to what the dress code is for the audience. It should be
“upscale casual,” business or church wear. This is a very special night for your child!
Children should not bring handheld electronic games or other devices with sounds and/or
lights that could be a distraction for other audience members.
Parents who bring infants to the performance should quickly exit the auditorium if the infant
begins to cry or create a distraction for the audience.
The use of video or photography is strictly prohibited during the Recital. It is important
that you pass this policy on to your Recital guests.
Two parents or guardians may accompany each student to Dress Rehearsal.
Please, no siblings who do not dance!
Parents are not allowed in the dressing rooms after the children have been placed
with the class mom. Female parents only allowed in cafeteria!

NOTE: Please do not attempt to pick up your child during the performance. All
students will be under the supervision of responsible adults and will be safe for the length
of each Act. The dressing rooms will be stocked with various activities as well as a video
feed of the performance.
PART 7: Recital Photography, Videos, and T-Shirts
Recital Photos
Individual dance photos will be taken on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 at the
Dance Studio. Dance photos are optional. You will need to sign up for an exact day and
time beginning April 18. There is no obligation to purchase photos. Please arrive at least
30 minutes before your child’s scheduled time since photo shoots tend to run ahead of
schedule. This year we have a new company taking photos--we are sorry to say that our
Mr. Bob has retired! Things will, however, be somewhat different. You will view and
purchase your photos right after the photo session. You will be able to view them on
computers set up for this purpose, make your selections and remit payment at this time.
The photos will then be at the studio for pick up after Recital.
Recital DVD
Ready, Set, Dance works with Diacom Videos to produce a professional DVD of the
entire Recital. The DVD is available for purchase at $35 (includes shipping and
handling) and must be preordered. Please use the attached form to reserve your copy.
DVD’s are shipped directly to you. Make sure you specify which performance you wish
to purchase.
Recital T-Shirt
The Ready, Set, Dance commemorative Recital T-shirt is made available for purchase by
students and parents. The professionally-designed shirt is a great memory! This year the
larger sizes will include the names of all the dancers on the back! $16 per Recital TShirt.
PART 8: Recital Tickets
Ticket Policies and Sales
Tickets go on sale April 18 and the cost is $20 each, if purchased by May 16. After May
16, the cost for Recital tickets is $24 per ticket. Keep in mind there may not be any
tickets available after May 16. All studio accounts (tuition, costumes, late fees etc.) must
be paid in full before family members can purchase Recital tickets. Everyone entering the
auditorium must have a ticket. (Dancers will not need tickets if they sit in the student
dancer section to watch the Acts that they are not participating in.)
To create an organized and professional atmosphere everyone must have a ticket.
Children over the age of three are not allowed to sit on adults’ laps. Our Recitals are
considered family entertainment and are approximately two hours, 45 minutes in length.
As of April 18, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

PART 9: Recital Policies
Video and photography
Parents or guardians may videotape or photograph (WITHOUT FLASH) their
children at the Dress Rehearsal only. No electrical outlets will be available, so be sure
your batteries are fully charged. Please note: No video or photography will be allowed
at the Recital. Security guards will ask you to bring any cameras back to your car.
Auditorium Rules
No eating, drinking, or smoking is allowed in the auditorium or dressing rooms. During
the Dress Rehearsal and Recital, when the dancers are not onstage they must remain in
the dressing rooms with their class moms. Snacks will be available for purchase in the
auditorium lobby but may not be brought into the auditorium. (This is a competition
fundraiser!)
Backstage
Family members and friends are not permitted backstage or in the dressing rooms during
rehearsals or the Recital, including during intermission and before and after the show.
There is a lot of backstage activity in a limited space, and dressing rooms are private
areas. Please remind your family and guests to be respectful of these areas. Those who
wish to greet performers after the show or present flowers may do so in the lobby areas.
Remember, there are no men allowed inside the cafeteria!
Props
All props, unless otherwise noted, are the property of Ready, Set, Dance and are to be
returned to your child’s dance teacher after the performance. Props include such items as
canes, parasols, beach balls, etc.
No video or photography will be allowed at the Recital.
PART 10: Participation Ribbons
Each Ready, Set, Dance dancer will receive one 2015 Recital Participation Ribbon at
Recital. These ribbons will be handed out by the class mom after the child has
performed.
PART 11: Volunteer Information
Recital Volunteers
Anyone interested in volunteering to help at both Dress Rehearsals and Recital is
welcome. There will be a sign-up sheet for Recital volunteers at the Dance Studio Desk
beginning April 18. The Recital weekend is a hectic experience and all volunteers must
work in a cooperative manner at all times. Our backstage managers work very hard to put
an efficient system in place, and we ask that all volunteers rely on the managers’
experience and follow their instructions.

All volunteers will receive an identification badge at the Dress Rehearsal, which must be
worn in the theater at all times. Please do not bring guests, including children, with you
while you are volunteering.
Volunteers/Class Moms
Class mothers are needed for each class to supervise the dancers and keep them safe and
accounted for. Class moms are responsible for making sure that each child is in the
proper costume, has the proper accessories and shoes, is backstage at the appropriate
time, and returns to the appointed dressing room after the performance.
The number of volunteers needed for each class will be determined by the number of
students (1 to 9 students = 2 volunteers; 10 to 19 students = 3 volunteers)
If there are too many volunteers for one class, some may be asked to work with children
from another class.
PART 12: Recital Yearbook/Program
Each year Ready, Set, Dance publishes an annual program for the Recital. “Good Luck
Wishes” and commercial ads are available for purchase. All students have the
opportunity to purchase and sell ads, but participation is not required. The form to
purchase or sell an ad is at the back of this booklet. The deadline to submit program ads
is April 3.
The Recital Is for Everyone
When everyone puts the children first, the Recital experience is one they’ll never forget.
We appreciate your compliance with the rules and guidelines in this handbook and hope
that the Ready, Set, Dance annual Recital will be as fun and exciting for you as it is for
all our staff. Thank you for working with us to create a memorable educational
experience through performance for all our students.

RECITAL
Review of Guidelines
Students will adhere to all costume, shoe, hair and makeup policies set by Ready, Set,
Dance.
No jewelry, earrings, exposed body piercing, or tattoos will be allowed.
Underwear will not be worn with costumes.
Unless otherwise instructed, students’ hair must be in a bun.
All costumes balances, tuition balances, unpaid late fees and other outstanding charges
must be paid prior to our dance Recitals.
Students will arrive at Olympia High School 30 minutes prior to the start of the Recital.
Students in costumes without a cover-up, are not permitted in the auditorium at any time.
Please make sure your child has a cover-up!
No video cameras or photography of any type with
cameras or cell phones will be permitted during the
performance.

PARENT CHECKLIST:
Following this checklist will help reduce stress and make the end-of-the-year
Recital a fun and magical experience for your dancer!

in case of runs, spills etc.

___Safety Pins/Sewing Kit (for emergency costume repairs)
___Clear nail polish (to repair minor holes/runs in tights when there isn’t
time to change them)
___Band-Aids--the invisible type
___ Tylenol, Advil, Motrin or the pain reliever of your choice. (This would
be for you, the parent!)

Dear Friends and Family,
This is our 13th year! So hard to believe so much time has passed so
quickly. Once again, we are selling ads for businesses, as well as ads to
wish your child Good Luck, Congratulations, or to showcase their dance
picture in our Recital Program. We are already working hard to make this
the best Recital yet! Approximately 1,200 programs will be given out to
families all located in the Ocoee, Winter Garden, Windermere and Dr.
Phillips area. This is a great way to advertise!
There will be several ways to purchase an ad:
1. See any of our competition dancers/parents as they will be selling the ads;
2. Sign up at the Dance Studio Desk; or
3. Email us at [email protected].
We will have some examples of the types of ads that we will be selling for
you to view. Prices will vary according to the size of the ad. All ads will be
in black and white, not color as the color process is expensive.
