AGM , Mercatino & Film : 19 November 2014
St Ninians, Puriri St, Riccarton
On Wednesday 19th November at 7.30pm at St Ninian’s Presbyterian Church, 9 Puriri Street, Riccarton, the
Dante Society will present its own mercatino or little market. This will feature Italian products made right here
in Christchurch and will include Italian cheeses made by Emilio and Adriana, Fiorenzo’s special salt, wine, and
(who knows), maybe some limoncello and Italian pastries. Each of the producers will talk briefly about their
products, their own story and how they came to make them, and of course, there will also be a little assaggio.
Prior to the mercatino, there will be the usual very brief AGM and, thanks to our friends Alfio Leotta and Michele Fontana in Wellington, we will also show their short documentary Stefano’s Team (10 minutes) after which
the mercatino part of the evening will begin at 8pm.
Cine Dante : Wednesday 26 November 2014 at Alice’s Cinematheque
Cesare deve morire è un film del 2012 diretto da Paolo e Vittorio
Taviani. La pellicola, girata in uno stile docu-drama, narra la messa
in scena del Giulio Cesare di William Shakespeare da parte dei
detenuti del Carcere di Rebibbia diretti dal regista teatrale Fabio
Cavalli. Si seguono le loro prove e la messa in scena finale del
"Giulio Cesare", ma anche le vite dei detenuti nelle loro celle.
Giulio Cesare h a vinto l’Orso d’oro al Festival di Berlino 2012, riconoscimento che mancava all'Italia dal 1991.Ha ricevuto otto candidature ai David di Donatello 2012, tra le quali quelle per miglior
film e miglior regista e ne ha vinti 5, compresi i due citati Il 26 settembre 2012, l'apposita Commissione ha annunciato di aver selezionato Cesare deve morire quale candidato italiano all “Oscar al
migliore film straniero 2013”
Films are shown at Alice’s Cinematheque, corner of Tuam and High streets. Screening starts at 6 pm. The cinema seats only 38 people so
bookings are advisable by phoning Alice’s on 365 0615. Ticket prices: $16; and $12 for seniors. Alice in Videoland’s booking schedule starts
from the Monday in the week before the screening of the film. Showings will regularly be on the last Wednesday of the month.. Booking,

Elezioni per il Rinnovo dei Comitati degli Italiani all’Estero
Ecco il comunicato ufficiale dell’Ambasciatore, datato 24 ottobre.
“Cari capi lista,
vi scrivo per anticiparvi i contenuti del verbale della riunione odierna del CEC, gia’ affisso sull’Albo Consolare
in Ambasciata e a breve pubblicato sul nostro sito internet. La riunione e’ stata dedicata, come prevede la
legge, a vagliare la documentazione originale che l’Ambasciata ha ricevuto in merito alle candidature e che
ha messo a disposizione del Comitato. Delle tre liste presentate, “COMITENZ”, “Wellington e Nelson” e
“Auckland e Christchurch”, solo quest’ultima era accompagnata da un numero di sottoscrizioni superiori a
100, e pertanto e’ risultata l’unica amessa a concorrere per l’elezione del COMITES di Wellington. Il processo
elettorale, che si concludera’ il 19 dicembre, continua dunque avendo solo una lista in lizza.Fino al 19
novembre tutti gli aventi diritto hanno ancora tempo per presentare la loro richiesta di essere inseriti nella
lista elettorale per poter votare, per corrispondenza, una volta ricevuto a casa il plico elettorale. Anche se con
una sola lista in lizza, conto che il maggior numero possibile di italiani continuera’ a mostrare interesse per
l’elezione del COMITES, anche considerando che per via del meccanismo delle preferenze il singolo elettore
ha comunque la possibilita’ di influenzare l’esito finale del voto.

A non-refundable $50 deposit will be required by 24 December 2014 to secure your place. The balance is to be settled by the
