SAINT PATRICK’S BASILICA RESTORATION FOUNDATION
Since Saint Patrick’s Day of 2012 we have been appealing to you to help us raise
$500,000 to cover financial overruns in previous restoration projects and to raise
money to help finance urgent repairs to our small towers or
Pinnacle Project and our Chimney Project.
To date we have collected $250,810 and thank you for your
generosity.
The Pinnacle Project was completed in December 2013. We thank
the Conseil du Patrimoine Religieux du Quebec for funding 70% of
the cost and Parks Canada for a grant of $100,000 under their
Cost-Sharing program for National Historic Sites. Next on the list
is the chimney BUT we still need to reach our goal of $500,000
in order complete the project and help with cash flow.
We need your help, please make your donation to the Saint Patrick’s Restoration
Foundation where the full amount is put towards restoring our Basilica. All
donations will receive a receipt for income tax purposes.
Thank you, Mary McGovern [email protected]

NOVEMBER – THE MONTH OF REMEMBRANCE
The Church has a long tradition of remembering those who have passed on to the love
and mercy of God. We do this in a special way on the Feast of All Souls, November 2,
and throughout the month of November. Here at St. Patrick’s, we have the Names of the
Dead placed in the Sanctuary of the Basilica where they will remain to be remembered
throughout the month of November, and at masses throughout the year. The following
prayer is recommended throughout this month in private and communal recitation:
“Eternal Life grant to them, O Lord.
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
SAINT PATRICK'S BASILICA CHOIR
The Basilica Choir welcomes new members with some music reading skills or experience
in 4 part singing, attendance is flexible. Please see the Music Director, Kevin Savor, in
the choir loft, after any weekend mass. For more information, 514-866-7379.
MISSALS: The missals for the upcoming year are available at the west door in the
pamphlet rack. The cost is $6.
Saint Patrick’s Basilica has won an award
for Restoration (in the category of
$250,000 and above), for the Pinnacle
Project, from the Conseil du Patrimoine
Religieux du Quebec.

Annual Bake & Craft Sale on Saturday, November 29th (following the 5.00 p.m. Mass)
and on Sunday, November 30th (following the 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. Masses) in the

CHRISTMAS BASKETS
Each year the parish helps an average of 30 adults (usually patrons of
our soup kitchen) living in the area surrounding the Basilica. We are
collecting new, good quality, men’s and women’s socks, scarves,
hats, gloves, toiletries and monetary donations. All funds coming
from the Poor Box in December will go towards the baskets. If you
wish to contribute, please deliver your contribution to the Parish Office during the week
or call 514-866-7379.
ST. PATRICK’S BASILICA VOLUNTEERS
This is a reminder to all parishioners, of the ministry that St. Patrick’s offers in the name
of putting others first for the sake of the Kingdom. There are numerous volunteer groups,
whose service forms part of our mission and raison d’être of the Parish of St. Patrick. A
luncheon is given during the Christmas season for our volunteers, at which time gifts
donated by parishioners are drawn. If you would like to donate a token of your
appreciation for their efforts, you may contact St. Patrick’s Office at 514-866-7379, for
further information.
LATIN MASS
The next Latin Mass will take place next Sunday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m.
YOUNG ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP
If you are between the ages of 18-35 and looking to share the challenges of being young
adults in the Church and world today, join us in the sacristy after the 5:00 p.m. Mass

PILLARS TRUST FUND
Supporting charitable activities which promote the spirit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Through the generosity of our English-speaking Catholic community. Pillars is
fortunate to have had a great legacy of donors who have been consistently
supporting us with time, talent and treasure since Pillars was founded over fortytwo years ago. Our ability to maintain support for our beneficiaries is dependent
on the continued revitalization of our donor group. We rejoice and embrace the message
Pope Francis expressed as he began his papacy, “Now, we take up this journey... a
journey of fraternity, of love and of trust among us.” We are most grateful to have you
with us on this journey of helping others. “As for me and my house, we will serve the
Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
