INTRODUCTION TO THE LITURGY OF THE SUNDAY
Let the light of faith overcome our fears of the darkness and of the unknown. The Lord graced each of us
with many abilities. These abilities give us the strength to confront life’s complexity and, with the
help of our Lord, enable us to reach new heights. Let a fearless desire to please the Lord fill our lives.
The Book of Proverbs praises the worthy wife who brings honor and good. In the second reading, Saint Paul
confirms that we are children of light. Our concern is to be ready for Jesus’ return. Our hearts are certain that the
Savior will return at any moment. Jesus teaches us to use our gifts to the fullest.

Our Lady of the Prairies Church – Daysland
At this Mass we will be remembering in a special way all those
whose funerals have taken place from all our parishes during the
last 12 months. A candle will be lit for each person who passed
away during that time.  We share in the deep sadness these families
experienced during this difficult time, and ask God to bless and heal
them. Be assured that He grants unto loved ones eternal rest and peace.


Shoeboxes to Mexico - 2014
The shoeboxes for the Mission to Mexico are at the back of each church with instructions attached. If you wish you can include in
the box Christmas card and/or your family picture. Also we had to pay $1.00 for each box, so if you would like to cover that cost
please include a loonie in the box. Deadline for returning boxes this year is Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014.  If you find it difficult to
go and purchase the items for the box you can give instead a donation in any amount with the note: “For Santa Clara Mission”.
Someone will do the shopping on your behalf and prepare the box. Thank you very much for your generosity!

We have placed some DVDs showing the Fraser's trip to Mexico in 2012 at the back of each church near the shoeboxes. You are
welcome to take one home and pass it along to other parishioners with a message to return to the church the following Sunday for

The Annual Sausage supper is once again under our belt. Thank you to anyone who had a hand
in anyway in its success.
Thank you to Lorne Albers, Jennifer Albers and Brian Sunderman for cleaning the eaves
troughs at St. Martin Church.
Thank you to Jennifer Albers for donating many hours of her time renovating the washrooms at
St. Martin Church. She worked tirelessly and patiently tackled each unforeseen issue and went
beyond expectations to complete the project. She did not charge the parish anything for her work!
THE ROAD TO DISCIPLESHIP  The master distributed talents in various amounts to us, then he went away. He will return, but
when? How much time do we have to account for what he has left with us? What does it mean to be ready? What do we do with the life
and talents God has entrusted to us? Do we do nothing, a minimal amount, or do we do the same things the master did? The key to
discipleship is to be dynamically, whole-heartedly working at what our master left for us to do: “Go, baptize, and teach; love God and
neighbour; welcome the poor, the stranger, the lost, and the least.”
