ACCELERATED SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION REQUEST OF PROPOSAL 2015/16 The Gauteng Department of Social Development invites NGOs, i.e. NGOs that provide services in the areas of Poverty Alleviation and Youth Development, with emphasis on Access to information, Social Programme and Skills Development to apply for funding to strengthen service delivery goals in the following areas: • • • • To improve income, asset and capabilities of poor families and communities To reduce income poverty amongst poor and vulnerable South Africans To implement youth programmes that assist youth to access decent work and participate in mainstream Economy To support and strengthen family and community interventions that foster social cohesion To increase the effectiveness and capacity of NPOs delivering youth development services To be considered favourably, applicants must be able to illustrate how maximum impact can be generated with the lowest possible use of resources. • • • • • • All proposals for funding must be done using the Department's application forms (www.socdev.gpg.gov.za) forms All sections of the application form must be fully and comprehensively completed All proposals must illustrate how the proposed activities will contribute to national and provincial priorities All NGOs must produce documented proof of their NPO certificate which will be verified for validity with the Department of Social Development (DSD) The NPO must be operating in the province and region where they are applying for funding.
