Please read our newsletter— A heap of information is enclosed.!!!!!! With the count down to the end of the year well on the way it is time to reflect on some of our special events coming up over the next 3 weeks. This Friday we will hold our swimming carnival. On Thursday next week, November 28th, we will be voting for our 2015 school leaders. The year 5 students will present their speeches prior to voting taking place. In the final week we have our year 6/7 graduation night on Monday December 1st followed by the school break-up on Wednesday December 3rd. Volunteers Morning Tea On Wednesday November 26th at 11am we will be having a volunteers morning tea for parents. This will be held in the library and will be an opportunity for the school to say thank you to the many parents who have helped the teachers throughout the year. This help may have been in many different ways including help with reading groups, help in the library, help with Masses and liturgies, help with camps and excursions or help with sporting activities such as swimming or athletics. Gift Boxes As previously mentioned Nicholas and Sophie, our school captains, are inviting families to prepare gift boxes to be donated to children who are in hospital over the Christmas period. If anyone would like to support this worthy cause please collect the empty boxes from the school office. The idea is to fill the boxes with various gift items. Boxes need to be returned to the school office by November 24th. HPE Lessons With swimming lessons now complete PE lessons will resume at school on Wednesdays for all classes except Prep. So, you would like to interview me?"God asked. " If you have the time,"I said. " God smiled. " My time is eternity; what questions do you have in mind to ask me?" " hat surprises you most about humankind?" W God answered: " That they get bored with childhood -they rush to grow up and then long to be children again. That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health. That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither the present nor the future. That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived..." God's hands took mine and we were silent for a while and then I asked... " As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?" BACK ROW: Owen Cunningham, Summer Dunne, Kayla Cunningham, Brady Jones, Liam Burton, Isabella Papadimitriou, Daniel Colombini, Fiona Giblin FRONT ROW: Brydie O’Kane, Kassidy Dore, Xavier Collins, Grace O’Kane, Dion Villaruz, Claudia Haines, Jarrod Vipiana, Eve Zonta, Charlie Dickinson, Samuel Dore, Drew Wilkinson Absent from photo - Cayla Briggs God replied with a smile: " To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved. To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness. To learn that there are persons who love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings. SCHOOL ASSEMBLY THIS THURSDAY at 8.40am Presented by: Yr 5 All parents and friends are invited to attend. To learn that money can buy everything but happiness. To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it very differently. To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they must also forgive themselves. SPORTING And to learn that I am here -- always." http://www.anvari.org/fun/Truth/Interview_With_God.html May God bless you kindly this week… DAY FOR DANIEL raised $181.40. SWIMMING CARNIVAL MENU Tuckshop ATTACHED. Your tuckshop needs you! Helping in the tuckshop is fun and easy, and a great way to get to know other parents in our school. The tuckshop generates in excess of $4000 for the P&F, which is given back to the school to help ensure that our children have the best resources possible to support their learning. Next year we will be losing a number of tuckshop volunteers as the Yr6/7 group leaves the school. If we cannot replace those that are leaving with new volunteers our tuckshop will be in jeopardy of ceasing to operate. We are also looking for people to help run the tuckshop next year. We will hold an ‘Introduction to helping in the tuckshop’ morning early next year for all volunteers.
