Knights of Columbus 71st State Bowling Tournament Rules Bowlers must be members of the Knights of Columbus and produce a current paid up Membership Card. Team Events. Multiple participation will be allowed in team events only according to Rule 317(a) in the ABC Constitution Specifications and Rules. No more than three bowlers on the same team can place more than once in the prize list for position standings. A bowler bowling on more than one team will count his first Team event score for his an events. Singles and Doubles. No entered, or substituted bowlers will be permitted to bowl singles unless he bowls doubles. No bowler will be permitted to bowl doubles unless he bowls singles. Singles and Doubles will be bowled three (3) bowlers to each lane, and singles will be bowled first. The automatic tele-score is the official scorer. Each bowler is responsible for observing his own score at all times. A bowler has 24 hours in which to register an official written protest to any soaring error. All Events. Optional All Events scores will include singles and doubles scores, and the score for the first team event of each bowler. Bowlers must use their highest 2013-2014 local ABC Bowling Association book average of 2013-2014 league average. When the previous seasons average is used, and at the time of bowling an entrant has 3 current average for 21 or more games that is 10 pins or more higher than the prior season's average, the current average must be used. Average Verification. League Secretary, or local ABC Bowling Association Secretary, must verify on this entry blank the highest 20132014 average over 21 games for bowlers having no 2013-2014 local ABC Bowling Association book average. All Non-League Bowlers simply leave the average column blank, as the Bowling Committee will supply the cumulative average from Past KofC Tournaments. If none of the above, 135 or higher entering average will be used. All Bowlers will be subject to re-rating. Bowlers will be re-rated if the bowler's average in each of the bowler's last five K of C Tournaments is 15 pins or more above his entering average. Re-rating will be 100% of the game average. Rule 319(c) is waived. Average Corrections. Average corrections can be made up to the end of the game in any series. ABC Rule 319(e) is waived. If the submitted average is higher than that required under these rules, prize winnings will be based on the submitted average. If the submitted average is lower than that required under these rules and results in a lower classification or more handicap, the bowlers score is disqualified. responsibility of the Team Captain to encourage his team members to conduct themselves as Catholic gentlemen during the Knights of Columbus Bowling Tournament. ABC Cards. Non Sanctioned bowlers may pay affiliated membership dues of the local association to qualify for ABC score awards. Mechanical Failures. In the event of mechanical failure or any others unscheduled delay of play, it is hereby agreed that the contestants affected shall be moved to the first available pair of lanes. Misrepresenting an average on any entry shall be grounds for disqualification of the entry (team, doubles, or singles) and forfeiture of any/all prize money which might have resulted from that entry. Entry Fee Details. Entry Fees in full must accompany the entry blank and shall be tendered by Check or Money Order. No entry fee shall be refunded, except in the case of rejection of an entry. Previous tournament earnings need not be declared.
