Village at Park Royal TURNS 10! The Village at Park Royal celebrated its 10 year anniversary this year. Festivities ran throughout the summer and culminated in a free concert for the community in September. Live entertainment, complimentary pedi-cab rides around the property, and retailer partnerships were celebrated through the creation of themed menu items. All lead up to the event day which featured a pop-up class by YYoga, family activities, cake cutting ceremony, giveaways and music by the Star Captains and Dear Rouge. Sales increased in July and August by 3.59 per cent and 3.26 per cent respectively. Social media delivered a multiple channel reach of over 236,000. Facebook followers increased 13 per cent, and the applause rate increased from 1.98 to 17.74 while Instagram followers increased 43 per cent and applause from 10.22 to 18.36. The Snap & Share contest garnered 374 entries with the hashtag #10YearsFun – receiving more than 4,500 likes. thursday, december 18 register NOW REGISTER NOW note WORTHY Jack in the City The LEGO Literacy Building Challenge was held Oct. 18 -19 at Central City. LEGO Certified Pro Robin Sather constructed the great Jack-O-Lantern and Surrey libraries benefited from the event. Market hosts Conference The first annual Canadian Markets Conference took place Oct. 26 to 28 at three locations: Granville Island Public Market, Lonsdale Quay Market, and River Market. Delegates from across Canada attended including Calgary, Montreal, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Victoria and Gibsons. Hillside 4 the Pets After the construction dust settled, Hillside Shopping Centre ended up with a lot of old furniture to dispose of. The public was invited to create their own piece of art, repurposing the furniture, for a campaign that raised $3,600 for Paws for a Cause. Before/ after photos were posted on Facebook. Yoga was part of the event that capped off a 10th anniversary celebration at The Village at Park Royal. BCLC wins ICSC Silver for Lotto! Interactive features enhance the new Lotto! Signature Store.
