Celebrating Our Charitable Outreach to the Community
Whatsoever You Do … That You Do Unto Me
WHEN OUR DEANERY was reorganized in 2005 one of the pastoral
goals was “to cultivate a preferential love for the poor with new enthusiasm
and energy”. The organization and work of our parish’s St. Vincent de Paul
Society continues to fulfill this goal in a clear and strong way. Their work
and our generous support help to insure that we remain a vibrant parish in this
community. Their annual report below gives an account of the work of the
past two years in the communities we are here to serve.
For the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2014, Food Pantry Assistance was given
to 2,255 persons, an increase of 143 people (6.8%) over the previous year
(2,112). Utility Assistance was pr ovided for 1,320 per sons, an incr ease of
92 households (7.5%) from 1,228. Overall this past year Total Assistance
increased by 7.0% from 3,340 clients served to 3,575.
I encourage everyone to join us for Mass on Thanksgiving Day at 9:00 am.
We must thank God together for how blessed we are. Gratitude always gives
birth to generosity, and there is much work yet to be accomplished.

THE FLU
WHAT’S NEW????
Have you heard that incidences of flu are at
an all time high this year? Did you forget to
get your flu shot? Do you know if you
should get one?
It is not too late to receive a flu shot. Many
of the local pharmacies are continuing to
have them available. The latest recommendation is that anyone over the age of 6
months SHOULD get a flu shot.
What if it just is not possible to get a flu
shot?
Here are some other things that can be done
to keep you from getting it.
• Eat healthy foods
• Exercise regularly
• Get adequate sleep
• Wash your hands frequently and avoid
touching your eyes or mouth.
If you think you have the flu , please do not
go to work, school or shopping. Stay at
home, stay in bed, and rest.
Stay healthy and remember to spend a few
minutes each day sitting quietly and preparing for the Christ Child.
Peace,

The Martha's is the ministry in our parish that provides the luncheon for the family after a funeral, if
they want it. If you have the time to make a dish or help with the luncheon for the Martha's, please
call Sister Rose, 868-2310 or Pat Wiese, 385-7845. We would appreciate whatever help you feel

Advent Class on the
Infancy Narratives
Want to explore the Infancy Narratives in the Bible?
A four-session discussion class conducted by Deacon Dave Harpring will be held at Our Lady of the
Rosary Parish Center on four Tuesdays starting 26
November and ending on 16 December. Class time
is 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM each Tuesday. The class
will use Benedict XVI’s book Jesus of Nazareth:
The Infancy Narratives and the Bible. The price of
the book is $12.99 and the book will be available at
the first class. Bring your own Bible to class, too.
If you are interested, please let Deacon Dave know
if you can. Call him at 831-8988 or see him after
Mass so he can get an idea of how many books to
order. And if you don’t get hold of him, or you
make a last-minute decision to come, Deacon Dave
will make sure you get a book. You can attend as
many of the sessions as you are able, no need to
commit to all of them.

Are you tired of clutter in your house?
We all have it...things we thought we
wanted but we don’t, or things someone
gave us but we don’t really need. Some of
these things are still in the box or have
been used just once and are in great condition so we don’t want to throw them out!
Well, here is a way to put those things to
use...guilt free! Our youth group will be
collecting usable, new or nearly new
items like mugs, decorations, jewelry, puzzles, Christmas stuff, etc. to sell in our
Santa store so we can send our youth to
the Pro Life trip.
