spectator,byinvitingtheindividualtoparticipateinanevent.Thefilmisanobservationandaninvitation

becomeactiveparticipantsinthescene-andthereforebepartofthepassivecrowd.Alteringnarrativeand
perspectivebasedonplayerbehaviorprovidesauniqueexperienceforeveryparticipant.
Animationcanconveyanentireimaginaryworld:Forwhateverreason,tellingstoriesoneframe—one
image—atatime,feelslikethepurestformofartmaking.There’ssomethingalchemicalaboutwatching,
becomingawareoftheprocessionofframes.Toborrowtoolsfromanimateddocumentaries:Thecontract
withtheviewertranscendsthehurdleofresistance,sincethesetupisundeniablyfabricated;itisthe
subjectiveexperienceandnotrealitywhichisquestioned.
