HOW TO BE A CONSIGNOR
Peopleplace’s 50/50 sale is the perfect way to get rid of all the children’s stuff cluttering your life and
basement and make some good hard cash. You decide the price and get 50 percent of the sale. What could be
better? Each consignor can sell up to 150 items. All you have to do is follow the instructions below to properly
tag all sale items. If you are donating items, you do not have to tag items and 100 percent of your donation is
tax deductible. For Consignors, 50 percent of the sale is a tax deductible donation. Drop off your tagged
clothing and completed inventory sheets at the main building of the Snowbowl on the following dates:
Wednesday, May 7
9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
Thursday, May 8,
9 a.m. -1p.m.
Merchandise will NOT be accepted after Thursday, unless it is donated. All items, including furniture, that do
not sell must be picked up on Saturday, May 10 between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m Any items not picked up by 1 p.m. will
be donated to charity.

TAGGING YOUR CLOTHES
Each sale item must have its own tag with the following information as shown above. If you would like to donate
your items, you do not have to tag your items. Each consignor is responsible for making their own tags. We
recommend using colored 3 x 5 index cards, cut in half to make two tags. Please use the following colors to let
us know how to price your items:



WHITE: Items that will be donated if not sold and can be discounted by 50% on Saturday
YELLOW: Items that will be returned to you if not sold and can be discounted by 50% on Saturday
PINK: Items that will be returned to you if not sold and that can NOT be discounted by 50% on
Saturday
The tags are critical for determining how much each consignor made at the sale, so please print clearly and make
sure they are fastened securely to each item. Safety pin the tag on the top right side of the outfit. If the tag
cannot be pinned to an item (toys, shoes, equipment, etc.) use string to secure the tag to the item(s), or use
Ziploc bags and place the tag inside the bag and tape the bag to the item. Do not use scotch tape which will not
hold.
Safety pin clothing sets together (matching hats and sweaters etc.) Socks and hair accessories and other small
items can also be grouped in a bag for pricing.
In general, clothing that is hung sells better, so we strongly recommend hanging your cutest clothes,
particularly coats, dresses and suits. Please safety pin items that may slip.
**We will gladly accept donations of hangers**
PRICING
You are responsible for pricing your items. Use whole dollar increments when setting the price. We have
included a pricing sheet to show examples from local consignment shops. Please price clothing with matching
socks, hats and hair accessories as one outfit.
Remember, you can reclaim items that do not sell.
