Psalms: The School of Prayer
Beginning January 7 & 8 through March 18 & 19.
The great adventure moves from telling the story
to making it personal. While the historical books
of the Bible recount God’s creative and redemptive acts in history, the Psalms reveal Israel’s
response to God’s covenant offer and serve as a
model for our response to Him. Indeed, one
could say that the historical books tell the outside
story of Israel by giving a historical perspective,
while the psalms tell the inside story, which
comes from the deeply personal perspective of
one who is seeking God. Our communication
with God is enhanced by a deeper understanding
of the book of Psalms and of the individual
psalms that reside in each of our hearts.

Down to Earth
Grounded in Faith
—Mark Hart
There are several moments in life where God
attempts to grab our attention and remind us that
he is in charge. Through humor and poignant
biblical insights, Mark Hart candidly reflects on a
particular near-death experience in his life where
our Lord grabbed his attention and put Mark’s
Catholic faith to the test.
CD’s are located in the main entrance of the
church. We kindly ask for a $3 donation for each
CD. Please place your donations in the envelope
and then in the wall slot behind the kiosk.
Checks may be payable to St. John Vianney.

The Christmas
Packing List
It was cold in Nazareth in
December and Mary’s baby was due any day
now. Can you imagine her packing list to journey
on a donkey, in the cold, for a distance of 80 miles
while nine-months pregnant? Whether Mary
and Joseph traveled alone or in a caravan, the
journey would take a minimum of four days
and most likely longer. At the end of Mary and
Joseph’s humble and difficult journey, Jesus
Christ came into the world as savior of all
mankind. This Christmas, may we remember
to keep our journey through life humble, simple,
loving, uncluttered and focused on Jesus.
Jesus Christ, son of Mary, is the Lord of all time:
Come, let us adore him, alleluia!
A Blessed and Holy Christmas to You
and Your Family from the
Team of Christ Renews His Parish.
