Welcome...
The Performing Arts events here at the Haugh Performing Arts Center just keep getting better and better.
Our own Performing Arts Department is virtually exploding with activity – nearly a dozen major productions showcasing
our talented student singers, dancers, actors, and instrumentalists are featured in these pages, along with a diverse array
of world-class entertainers, performers, and productions.
We think our schedule has something for everyone – afternoons and evenings that promise to be entertaining, uplifting,
educational, energetic, nostalgic, hilarious, toe-tapping, spectacular, rewarding, and just plain FUN.
Our newly redesigned website (www.haughpac.com) makes it easier than ever to find out what we’re doing – to buy tickets –
and to share information about HPAC with friends. Be sure to visit and give us your email address so we can keep you up to
date, and spread the word about the Haugh when you notice a show you think others will enjoy.
And remember – as all of us here at Citrus remember every day – that it’s all here for YOU. In a fast-paced world, let us
make it easy to slow down and enjoy. Make the performing arts a part of your life – they make it worth living!

The Royal Family of the Guitar
The Romeros
Sunday, September 28, 2008
at 2PM
Sally Struthers
in
Nunsense
Student/Senior: $26
This celebrated family guitar dynasty,
now made up of Celin, Pepe, Celino, and
Lito returns to Citrus after an absence of
over 25 years. A few fortunate musicians
rise to the peak of a musical art form;
a very few originate an art form.
The Romeros have done both: four
virtuosi on the same instrument in the
same family is unique in the musical world. With countless performances world-wide, the
New York Times says of them “Collectively, they are the only classical guitar quartet of real
stature in the world today; in fact, they virtually invented the format.”

“What the Three Tenors are to the world of opera, the Romeros are to the classical guitar.”

Nunsense offers a conventful of hilarity for the whole family. You‘ll roar with laughter at
the hilarious antics of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, New Jersey, as they stage a fundraising
talent show on the set of their students’ production of Grease. Presiding over the mayhem
is Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Sally Struthers (All in the Family, Gilmore Girls) as
the Reverend Mother. Come see for yourself why “Nunsense is habit forming!”

The Citrus Sierra Wind Symphony recreates famous
moments from film in this annual showcase.
Set in a decadent Berlin night club in the 1920s, Cabaret focuses
a distorted lens on the rising Nazi powers. Within the cabaret, life
is beautiful; outside, the world is rushing toward the cataclysmic
events of World War II. Musical numbers include Willkommen,
Cabaret, Don't Tell Mama, Tomorrow Belongs To Me, and Two Ladies.

Kris Kristofferson has reached living legend status – and this
concert, featuring just Kris alone onstage with his guitar, is a very
personal acoustic afternoon with the legendary music maker. His
songs Me and Bobby McGee, Help Me Make It Through the
Night, Sunday Morning Coming Down, and For the Good Times,
all chart-topping hits, helped redefine country songwriting. After
more than 30 years of writing and performing music, his current
focus is on solo performance. In his words: “There’s an honesty
in the sparseness...being alone is freer somehow. It’s like being
an old blues guy, just completely stripped away.”

The Neville Brothers have been together and recording since 1978. Their music
defies classification: bayou funk, rhythm and blues, bebop, and soul are inadequate
labels for their unique, never-duplicated sound. Each of the four brothers has
discovered his own musical identity; as a family, these “blood brothers” have
created some of the funkiest sounds the world has ever heard, combining half
a century of New Orleans music into one family unit. First time at Citrus!
