Piemonte
Piedmont is located in the Northwest area of Italy, hugging the Mediterranean coast. Being close to the alps, the area enjoys a high altitude, with the
best vineyards benefiting from the hills and elevation. Known for its famous sub-districts, Piedmont delivers some of the most distinctive, high-quality,
ageable wine of Italy. Most popular are the DOCG districts Barolo and Barbaresco, producing Nebbiolo-based wine of the same name.

Toscana
One of the most important wine regions in Italy and home to the indigenous Italian grape variety, Sangiovese. Most of the wine coming from Tuscany is
made from some clone of this varietal, but a growing trend, started by the renegade winemakers of those Super Tuscans, is to incorporate more
international varietals.

Veneto
Located in Northeast Italy, near the Austrian border, Veneto is most famous for its city of love, Venice. In the wine world, Veneto is the top volume
producer in the north of Italy. Production includes lovely spritzy Proseccos, as well as the easy-drinking white wine of Soave and the full-bodied red

Puglia
Puglia excels at warm-climate wines made with indigenous grapes. The Primitivo grape is famously linked genetically to Zinfandel. Local wines show
ripe berry nuances, inky concentration and soft tannins. Salice Salentino has planted Negroamaro for hearty reds.

Sicilia
Sicily has more vineyards than any of the other Italian regions. Renowned for the many outstanding dessert wines, such as the world-famous Marsala.
It’s most common red grape, Nero D’Avola, is similar to Syrah in style. Deep, dense color with mid to high tannins and dark red fruit flavors of plum and
raspberry with some examples offering chocolate.

the leaders in production. Montepulciano D’Abruzzo can be “found on every dinner table in Abruzzi” – Mario Daniele.

The “Tre Bicchieri” or “three glass” award is given by the most predominant
wine magazine in Italy, Gambero Rosso. A prestigious award for any wine maker to receive.
In 2013 for example, Gambero Rosso evaluated over 20,000 Italian wines from 2340
producers. Of those only 399 wines received Tre Bicchieri awards.
