MdCV home game Admittance Policy Free student admission!!! MdCV students will be admitted free to all home games/matches. Students K-5 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to be admitted free. HS/JH students will be required to watch the games. Those not watching the games or causing disruptions will be asked to leave and not return. Students must have attended school that day and be in “good standing” to attend the game. This policy does not apply for away games or KSHSAA sponsored events (regional, sub-state, etc.). Inclement Weather Dismissal Whenever school is cancelled for a day or more due to inclement weather, we always notify the following stations: WIBW-TV, KSNTTV, KOFO-1220 AM Radio, KVOE-1400 AM Radio, AM Radio 580, and FM Radio 94.5. These same stations are also notified if school is dismissed early. We would appreciate a call from parents if there is somewhere (other than home) you wish your child to be sent if school is dismissed early. Also, School OutReach will call and notify parents about school closings. If your phone number has changed, please notify the high school office at (785) 549-3313. MdCV FFA and Alumni Fundraiser Agriculture Mechanics students have made two benches: one in FFA colors of blue and corn gold, and the other in Trojan school colors of orange and blue. Each features the tailgate of a Ford or Chevrolet truck. Opportunities to win one of these benches may be obtained by purchasing a $10 raffle ticket at any home junior high or high school basketball game, or by contacting Danny Rice, the MdCV FFA advisor. Proceeds will go to the MdCV Alumni and MdCV FFA Scholarship fund. Winners will be announced at the annual MdCV FFA banquet, scheduled for April 15, 2015. MdCV Booster Club News The MdCV Booster Club is looking for volunteers to help with gate duty, raffles and after-prom activities. If you can help, please contact Karla Saffle or Beth Weimer. ACT Testing Dates Test Date__________Registration Deadline Feb 4, 2015 Jan 9, 2015 April 18, 2015 March 13, 2015 June 13, 2015 May 8, 2015 Students will need to make certain that they arrive at the testing site at least 15 minutes early. They need a form of ID, a calculator, two #2 pencils and their testing tickets. Students may apply online at www.actstudent.org or they may come by the guidance office and pick up a paper registration packet. Most juniors and seniors will need the test scores for financial aid (including scholarships) and college entrance. Parents’ Night and Queen of Courts Parents’ Night in 2015 will be held at the high school home basketball game on January 20th. The honoring of our senior athletes and their parents will take place before the varsity boys’ game. The 2015 Queen of Courts crowning will take place at the home high school basketball game on February 6. The king and queen will be announced at half time of the boys’ varsity game. 2014-2015 Yearbooks Preorder your 2014-15 yearbooks this year. The yearbook is an 84-page book full of colored pictures of high school, junior high and elementary students and activities. Place your order by March 1, 2015, to reserve your copy. There may not be any extras available. Spelling Bee The MdCV Elementary and Junior High Spelling Bee will be hosted by the Quenemo School this year on January 21st at 2:00 pm. Kansas Day Celebrations at Quenemo Mr. Lingenfelter and the 7th grade students are preparing Kansas Day activities for our elementary students at Quenemo on Friday, January 30th, 2015.
