Hope Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests for December 17, 2014
Pastor Glenn Peterson: This week let us pray for
1) God to increase our love for one another at Hope.
2) Those in the community who will receive Christmas gifts from us at Hope that
they will recognize the love of God in those gifts and thank Him for that love.
AWANA: Please pray that the children would learn to hear the Holy Spirit. Also pray
that the children would desire to have their own, personal devotions. Pray for the
parents of the children to come to the Lord.
Eric & Ellen Peters:
Praise:
 Seeing evidence of God healing Ellen. Her last blood tests showed some
encouraging movement in the right direction and former symptoms are gone. Her
next tests will be in Jan.
 Excellent Leadership meetings in Oct/Nov where we experienced unity and
synergy, and took proactive steps forward in church planting initiatives, Biblical
reflection and support of new offices, among many other encouraging processes.
Prayer:
 Pray for God to reveal His way forward in re-launching our Europe sending office.
Eric will be involved in some important meetings in mid-January.
 Pray for 5 of our PI members who have recently had to suddenly pack up and
leave their homes in 3 locations of 2 very difficult-to-live-in countries. Pray for
their hearts and for healthy grieving and transition. Ask for God to water seeds
they planted in hearts.
 Pray for us to be attentive to God’s leading as we enter a very full ministry
season in January. We have many people coming through Chiang Mai, including
Ellen’s brother Johnny and his wife, along with strategic connections and
conferences.
Carla Bryant: Praise! I received a raise at work.
Julie Hanmer: Please continue to pray for Parker and our family. Parker’s spirits are
good but the chemo is taking its toll on his body. He will have a spinal tap on
Wednesday. If no leukemia cells are present, he will be able to come home for
Christmas. Please pray he will be able to be home for Christmas. Pray also for his mom
Nichole who has developed strep throat and is run down from trying to balance caring
for Parker, caring for her two other younger children and working. We all feel we are
needed in several places at once.
Debbie Gagne: Please keep praying for my mom. She is in a new assisted living
situation but she still has a boot on her broken leg. She is very discouraged and her
dementia is worse.

 Sam Snao as he goes to Boston for a second opinion.
 Marlene Ross diagnosed with cancer.
Unknown: Please pray for Emily Davis to be healed from her anxiety and that it would
go away. Help her to trust God to take the anxiety away. Pray also that she will be able
to find a new job.
Unknown:
 My 88 yr old mother is approaching a time when she will need to stop driving.
Please pray that she will acknowledge it and be willing when the time comes.
Please also pray for her safety as well as others while she continues to drive.
 My friend and neighbor Ann V. had back surgery last Wednesday. She is
experiencing a lot of pain even with medication. Please pray for relief from pain
and a quick recovery.
Prayer Requests for December 10, 2014
Pastor Glenn Peterson: This week let us pray for
1) God to give Brian and Rachel Shorey a smooth transition to Hope Baptist as
Brian begins his ministry as youth and children's pastor in January.
2) God to bring unbelievers to Hope in this Christmas season so that they may grow
in their understanding of Christ.
AWANA: Please pray that the children would have hearts open to accepting the Lord or
increasing their faith. Pray that the children would not see themselves as outside The
Church or a part of The Church of tomorrow, but that they are The Church right now.
Pray that they would become mature in their faith.
Bill & Dianne Grudda: It’s been a dry year in Senegal physically and spiritually. We
know that even in the midst of this dry period, God is at work. We trust Him to raise up a
strong national pastor to lead the ministry team, that He will bring the ministry to a place
where the work will once again flourish, that people will see His hand at work, and those
who are lost will hear the Gospel. Please pray for the national church association, for
local pastors who have so little to work with, for the partnership program, and for
wisdom for us to know how to best work with them.
By contrast, the rains in Ivory Coast were abundant. It was a blessing for us to minister
for four months there this year. The church association has excellent leadership,
church-initiated and nationally-run programs, and vision for ministry that often makes us
gasp! Pray that God will continue to pour His blessing on the churches there; that the
need for more trained pastors will be met as Bethel Bible Institute in Korhogo expands
its program to accept more students; and that we will be able to find US churches to
partner with the vibrant ministries going on.
