4th Sunday of Advent / Blue Sunday, December 21, 2014 A message from our pastor... Gospel Lesson: Luke 1:46-55 Offering Praise to God Praising God is one of the most important aspects of worship, both public and private. When we find ourselves uttering words of adoration and praise to God it brings us closer to His presence. It allows us to count the blessings in our lives. It puts us in a place where God can bless us more because we are more receptive of His blessings. These seasons of Advent and Christmas offer us wonderful opportunities for singing the praises and speaking our praises of God. As we celebrate the coming of the Christ child and as we remember the fulfillment of God’s ancient promises, blessings come to us. As Mary discovered she would bear the Christ child, she offered praises to God. As we receive the gift of the Christ to us, we may be filled with the praises that make us more able to offer God our praises.
