Welcome to Week 11 and the final week of our 2014 school year. This
year has been a year of many blessings for our school and also some
trials as well. I must say how proud I am of our entire school community
for all they do for each other. We have had a very successful school year
and I am very excited about the possibilities 2015 will bring.
Third Sunday of Advent
A reading from the Gospel according to John (John 1:19 - 23)
This is the testimony of John. When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to him to ask
him “Who are you?” he admitted and did not deny it, but admitted, “I am not the Christ.” So they
asked him, “What are you then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.” Are you the prophet?”
He answered, “No”. So they said to Him, “Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who
sent us? What do you have to say for yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the
desert, make straight the way of the Lord, as Isaiah the prophet said.”

As Christmas approaches, let us live with the knowledge that Christ is always with us; in and with the messiness and busyness of our lives, somehow more heightened at this time of year. Jesus is more than ‘reason for
the season;’ He is the reason for everything! This Advent, recognise that
Jesus is always with us; in all life’s busyness and struggles. We have an
opportunity to grow in understanding that He is with us and our families,
as we continue our journey together as people
Thank you for sharing 2014 with me, what a journey it has been!, I look
forward to 2015 and all the excitement it will bring.
May you have a wonderful and Holy Christmas with many family and

Term 4, Week Eleven 2014
Thank you
As we finish up for 2014, I would like to say thank you to
all the students, staff and parents for your support with
Religious Education throughout the year.

We have achieved so much together, with Masses, liturgies, fundraisers, and school and classroom experiences
that allowed our school community to continue our vision:

On a sad note, we farewell both Fr Mark and Fr Reynold
from our parish, as they head to other parishes in our
diocese. Thank you goes to both of them for their guidance and support. Particular thanks to Fr Reynold who
warmly embraced St John’s Primary as our school chaplain.

COMBINED CATHOLIC SCHOOLS FEES & FAMILY SUPPORT OFFICE
All Kindergarten Information Sessions for all schools are now complete. Just a reminder that there will be a change relating
to Kindergarten Tuition Fees for the 2015 school year.
Bishop Michael McKenna has approved for all of the primary schools across the diocese, the transition to a single Tuition
Fee for all K-6 primary students. Currently, there is a Tuition Fee for K-2 and a different Tuition Fee for Years 3-6. 2015 will
be the first year of the transition to a single Tuition Fee for K-6. The transition to the single fee will be applied to Kindergarten 2015. This means that for 2015 the annual Tuition Fee for Kindergarten students will be the same as for students in
Years 3-6 as outlined as follows:

The rationale for this move to a single fee is due to the increasing similarity between the core operating costs associated
with educating students in the infants years and the primary years. School principals have been experiencing this phenomenon for several years and hence the decision to move to a single fee across all years in the primary school. These costs in
the early years of formal school have been rising with the increased research into the significance of a student’s learning in
K-2 and therefore the introduction of new strategies, resources and interventions to support quality learning in a child’s
early years of schooling.
The 2015 CAPITAL WORKS LEVY is set at $480.00 per family for the 2015 school year.
CLASS CHARGES for all schools and individual year groups will be finalised by the end of November. They will be published
in the next insert of your school newsletter.
If you have not finalised your account and you have no agreed payment plan in place it is very important that you contact
this office before the end of the school year to discuss.
As always, if you are having difficulty meeting your school fees commitments, appropriate processes can be put in place to
assist you at the earliest possible instance. However, this assistance cannot be offered if we don’t know you are having
difficulty.
