T
he 48th Annual Winter Glow Ball
to benefit The ARC of Monmouth
was recently held at the Navesink
Country Club with over 300 supporters in
attendance. The event honored Joe and
Anita Roselle on the occasion of Anita’s
25th anniversary as chairman of this
event. Tim McLoone was also honored
with the Humanitarian Award and supplied the music that made the event a very
special one! The ARC is a vital source of
well-being for over 1,300 individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities
and their families in Monmouth County.
The Roselle Family proudly stood together for a photo: Veronica, Joe and Anita,
Valentina, and Peter and Kristina. Some
close friends and family pitched in with
light-hearted roasts of the Roselles which
had many attendees laughing out loud!
The 25 Year Committee members were honored

Joan and Carol have been involved with the ARC committee

BUILDER’S GENERAL HOSTED EVENT FOR HOMELESS VETERANS

H
ope for Veterans will be the recipient of funds raised by Builder’s General in conjunction with Eco Building Products. Builder’s General recently hosted an event for Hope
for Veterans, a non-profit that assists homeless veterans in New Jersey, with programs
that have expanded into Monmouth County 6 months ago. Donations of men’s coats, blankets
and dry food items are still being accepted at all Builder’s General locations, and Eco Building
Products will donate a percentage of sales of their defensive Christmas Tree Spray to Hope
for Veterans. The Shaheen Family are the owners of the BG location in Little Silver: Betsy
Shaheen Saffra, L.P. Shaheen, Phil Shaheen, Mar y Shaheen White, Tim, Easton,
Michael and T.J. Shaheen. For veterans and veteran families who are homeless or

Many area veterans came out to support the event.
OCEANIC FREE LIBRARY
HELD 4TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE

he Oceanic Free
Library in Rumson
was filled with shoppers and holiday cheer at the
recent 4th Annual Shopping
Boutique. The evening featured over 20 venders (local
artists, jewelers, crafters and
more) with a percentage of
all sales being donated to the
library. Library board members and staff members

HOLY CROSS PTA SPONSORED TURKEY TROT

he ladies of the Holy
Cross PTA in Rumson
organized a Turkey
Trot which included a 5-mile
run, 1 mile run and kiddie
dashes to raise funds to support the Holy Cross School
(pre-school through 8th

CHRISTIAN BROTHERS ACADEMY INDUCTS
SEVEN ALUMNI AND ONE TEAM INTO SCHOOL’S HALL OF FAME
T
he CBA community recently celebrated the induction
of its 2014 Hall of Fame honorees at the annual CBA
Hall of Fame Gala held at the
Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands. The
CBA Hall of Fame honors those members
of the community who best exemplify
CBA ideals and who have brought credit
and distinction to the Academy. This
year’s inductees include alumni from the
1960s to 1990s and represent a number of
fields and areas of expertise and accomplishments.The inductees are pictured

Brother Charles Kitson, FSC, Tony
Reali, Robert W. Lutkewitte, Paul
Molzon, Bernard Arnella and David
Santamaria. Tony Reali is a sports media
personality, writer and television host. He
is the anchor of ESPN’s Around the Horn
and social media correspondent for
ABC’s Good Morning America.

he Mental Health Association of Monmouth County’s
Fall Celebracíon, Viva La Vida was recently held at
Raven & The Peach in Fair Haven. This well attended
event “celebrated life” with entertainment from The Haven
and a Spanish themed menu. Proceeds from the event will
support MHA’s free programs and services that are available
to all families in Monmouth County. Ramon Solhkhah, M.D.,
Chairman of Psychiatry, Jersey Shore University Medical
Center and Corporate Medical Director, Meridian Behavioral
Health Services (left) was honored for his tremendous efforts
to advocate, educate, and treat those affected by mental illness and drug addiction in Monmouth County. For more
