Circular 66 of 2014: Benefit definition Liver transplant
The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) commenced a process in 2010 to better define PMB benefits through the development of
explicit benefit definitions (BD) for PMB conditions as prescribed in the PMB regulations.
As a continuation of that process, the CMS has developed a benefit definition for Liver transplant. The liver transplant draft benefit
definition was published in 2012 for comment. This benefit definition incorporates comments from stakeholders and is available on
the CMS website.
