Zaskes
The Zaskes are having a well deserved break back in Europe and
Germany at this time. They give thanks for a great time in Corsica,
Stuttgart where Martin is from and Amsterdam to visit his sister.
We are looking forward to welcoming them to Flowerhill early in the
new Year.
Meanwhile their work abroad is progressing slowly. The team is
sending us word-lists for the dictionary and is working on articles for
the next edition of GuGu. In addition to that they are preparing their
contributions for this year's meeting of the Anii kings which will take
place in B itself this time. Last week they had Japanese visitors at
the office. The district office came for a visit with Japanese people
who want to build a school in a northern village. Our team enjoyed
showing them the office and explaining our language work to them.
Ÿ Give thanks for this couple and pray that God will richly bless
them on their furlough.
Ÿ Pray from the work they have left behind that it would
continue to progress.
Peace
As we think about peace do pray for the areas around our world
where there is none. Places like Iraq, Syria and of course Pakistan.
Ÿ Pray for governments, world leaders, charities, pressure
groups and the like that they will be able to be peace
makers.
Ÿ Pray for families and people dealing with the aftermath of the
events that we have hear of this week.
Ÿ Pray for peace in our families and parish

A warm welcome to everyone this morning. All are welcome and included
here in the Flowerhill family as we gather to worship Jesus our Lord, to
hear his word and to respond to his love together. Do stay behind for a chat
afterwards over a cup of tea in the large hall.

Silent Night Part 3
We have been working our way
through the carol that the German
soldiers sang on that first
Christmas eve of WW1. This of
course led to the famous
Christmas Day truce which 2014
marks the 100th anniversary of.
Today we look at the last verse
and see again the brightness of
God’s glory seen in the face of
Silent night, holy night!
Jesus.
Shepherds first saw the light, We see the love that comes to us
Heard resounding clear and from him and rejoice that he
comes to bring grace by being our
long,
Saviour.
Far and near, the angelThe peace on that first Christmas
song:
day of WW1 may only have lasted
‘Christ the Redeemer is here a day or two at most. But the
peace that the angels sang about
to the shepherds, the peace that
Silent night, holy night!
Jesus brings to us lasts forever.
Son of God, O how bright
Through him we have peace with
Love is smiling from Thy
God, peace with ourselves and
face!
peace with each other.
Strikes for us now the hour
This Christmas lets rush like the
of grace,
shepherds and go to see what the
Saviour, since Thou art born, angels talked about; this
Christmas rush again to the baby
who was born a Saviour, look full
in his radiant face and know the
loving grace of his Father.
