HOW DO I...?
VISUALLY ANALYZE A COMPETITIVE PIPELINE
The search example highlights how to visually analyze a competitive pipeline. Using the Rank by View feature, you can create a
visual picture of your results list. This will help you to see things, that you might not have seen, from just the list of results alone.
THE RESULTS SCREEN
1. After conducting a search, and filtering down your results, change the display from the Table View to the Rank by View using
the View icons located at the top right of the screen. We will focus on Drug Results for this search example.

2. We will look at the Rank by View display. Click on the pie graph icon to the far right.

3. When you open up the Rank by View display, you will see a visualization of your results list. The default is “Active Companies”
as the Y-axis, however, you can select other criteria choices from the drop down menu.

4. To filter down the Ranked results further, you can use the Refine Search, located along the bottom left hand column.
For our example, we will filter down the “active companies” results by the Target-based action
of “Beta 2 adrenoceptor agonist”.
To choose additional terms, click on the Choose More button.

5. The screen refreshes, and brings back the filtered results. When you hover over one of the “Active Companies” the number of
results will come up. In our example, hovering over GlaxoSmithKline will bring 3 results.

6. If you click into the bar for GlaxoSmithKline, it will take you directly to the 3 results back in the Table View display, where you can
click through to the individual drug reports. There are several options to analyze your results further. You can expand your results
view per page, change your sorting options, analyze your results, save your results and set up an email alert, or export them.
