God’s Blessing
to St Joseph’s
Parishioners
With your presence
St Joseph’s Parish is truly
blessed.
Fr Graham, Parish Staff &
Parishioners
Thanksgiving and joy over God’s best gift to us – his Son – are the major
themes of the prayer of the Christmas liturgies. We rejoice in the great fact that
our Saviour is born into the world. We praise God for ‘creating man and still
more for restoring him in Christ.’ We thank God for the gift of life and for the
gift of faith in Christ. God has become man so that we may share in his divine
life. Christ teaches us that we are children of God who is our Father. The presence of Jesus brings peace with God and we pray that his peace may be renewed in our hearts and that all may share in it. We thank God for the abiding
presence of his Son in the hearts of the faithful, in the word of truth in scripture
and in the Eucharist in which we share. The Word who was made flesh still
lives amongst us and in gratitude we recognize his presence in those whom he
still seeks to save.

Happy Christmas!
At least once in a year we make a point of wishing our friends and
neighbours a happy Christmas. Whatever reservations people have
about the depth of the sentiments they hear they are still prepared
to say to someone by their gifts and cards, “You are loved and you
are blessed.” The world after all is a great place and life is good
and beautiful. The Christ child, whom some would wish to ignore,
says this and invites us to live lives of gratitude and joy.
So to all our parishioners, friends, visitors, and all those who are
alone this year, or who have lost a loved one, may you be blessed
and know
you are loved
by God.

Evangelii Gaudium
“Realities are greater than ideas. This principle has to do with incarnation of the word
and its being put into practice: ‘By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that
confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is from God’ (1 Jn 4:2). The principle of
reality, of a word already made flesh and constantly striving to take flesh anew, is essential to evangelization. It helps us to see that the Church’s history is a history of salvation...”

IGNITE SUMMER CAMP January 15-18th 2015.
Every summer has a story; what will yours be?
Each year, two hundred teenagers and youth leaders
come together for four huge days of inspiring speakers, huge outdoor games,
loads of time making new friends and heaps of time to connect with Jesus,
and discover more about their faith and explore what it all means. This isn’t a
bible camp where you have to be perfect, or super holy, or know everything…
or even know anything – this is about you kicking off the year on a massive
high, and finding your place in God’s love. We don’t do judgment or fake
masks, we’re all about the love. You don’t need to know anyone going - we
can’t wait to meet you. St Joseph’s Parish/ St John’s College has a group
going. Register with Campus Minister Tracey Langford now!! 0417071168 or

“...solidarity must be lived as the decision to
restore to the poor what belongs to
them...convictions and habits of solidarity,
when they are put into practice, open the
way to other structural transformations and
make them possible. Changing structures
without generating new convictions and attitudes will only
ensure that those same structures will become, sooner or later,
corrupt, oppressive and ineffectual.”

We need
the help of
men in order
to find God.
Samuel
went to Eli
when God
called. Eli
waited for
certainty
and then gave good and prudent advice. It
was John the Baptist who pointed Christ out to
his disciples and Andrew gave the good news
to his brother. The inner sacrifice God wants
from us is that we listen to his call and do
what he asks of us. When, like Samuel, we
have sought advice and are sure of God’s call
then we can say joyfully, ’Here I am! I am
coming! Taken from “The Veritas Missal” ©
