January 2015 Jim Dapogny’s Quartet at SEMJA / KCH Series V eteran pianist Jim Dapogny and his quartet will open up this year’s SEMJA / KCH Club Series with a performance at Kerrytown Concert House on Saturday, January 10, at 7:00 p.m. Dapogny is a unique pianist, arranger, scholar, and bandleader who has played traditional and swing jazz in these parts since the 1960s. He co-leads Phil Ogilvie’s Rhythm Kings on late Sunday afternoons at the Zal Gaz Grotto Club in Ann Arbor. His present quartet includes Mike Karoub on cello, Kurt Krahnke on bass and Rod McDonald on guitar. The SEMJA / KCH series recreates a club feel in the Concert House by adding a bar with wine, beer, and soft drinks. SEMJA volunteers will be your servers at the bar.
